Have A "Sweet" 4th of July from Uncle Sam
I was disappointed when York stopped making their Peppermint Patties in the foil wrap. I did manage to find a few bags at my local supermarket, I'm storing them in the freezer for Halloween! So, I had to figure out another idea to make the candy wrappers for the holidays. I saw the paper punch Uncle Sams on Splitcoast, and decided to give it a try.
Supplies:
Stamps: Studio G
Ink: Memento, Martha Stewart
Paper: Bazzill, Recollections
Misc: Ribbon, pretzel bags, paper punches, stickles, pop up dots, crop-a-dile, black sharpie pen, white gel pen

Celebrate Freedom
The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. It's a day we celebrate the brave men and women who helped build this great country. I love using the red, white, and blue color combinations. This card was made using Papertrey Ink's Vintage Picnic Set. I paper pieced the basket topper and popped it up using pop up dots. Glitter was applied to make the stars sparkle and the white stripes on the flag. I love the little letter beads and thought it would be fun to use them for the sentiment.
Supplies:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink-Vintage Picnic
Ink: Memento
Paper: Bazzill, Recollections, Papertrey Ink
Misc: Nestabilities, copics, button, dmc floss, ribbon, pop up dots, glue, letter beads, glitter

Cute As A Button
This card was made using the Just Rite set, Stitched With Love. This is becoming one of my favorite sets. I love sewing themed stuff, it's inspired me to start sewing again. My job is really getting in the way of my crafting time! But, I need it to feed my "habit"!

Paper: Bazzill, The Paper Company, October Afternoon

Off We Go Into The Wild Blue Yonder...
(This is the second post for today, scroll down to the first post.)
My Dad and I are huge airplane buffs. Our favorites are the WWII War Birds. We have gone to several air museums and airshows over the years. He's is coming down this weekend for my sister's wedding. I am so excited to see him. We are planning to take a trip out to Kennedy Space Center, it is so awesome out there. We are also going to an air museum here in Lakeland, Fantasy of Flight. I am excited about that, they have a P-51 that was flown by the Tuskegee Airmen during WWII. I was fortunate and honored to meet the son of the pilot who flew that very plane a few months ago. You can read about these heros here. My great uncle, Fred Lindsay, was a tail gunner in a B-17 during WWII. These brave men protected his plane. I made this card for my Dad, but it would be great for any aviation buff or to honor the great men and women in the Armed Forces and our Veterans.
I cut the plane out with my Cricut using my Stand and Salute Cartridge. I used the metallic paper to make the plane shiny. The stamped image is a digital stamp, Pearl Harbor from Pixie Dust Studios.
Supplies:
Stamps: Pixie Dust Studios-Digital-Pearl Harbor
Paper: Recollections, Bazzill, American Crafts, Best Occasions
Misc: Cricut, Stand and Salute, buttons, silver half beads, copics, pop up dots

Happy Father's Day with Mickey Mouse!
I decided to make another Disney themed card for my Dad for Father's Day. This could easily be adapted for birthdays or "just because". The letters and Mickey head are from the Mickey Font Cricut Cartridge. I used pop up dots to give them more definition. Instead of using plain black cardstock, I used the black glitter paper for letter shadows and the Mickey Mouse to make it sparkle.
Supplies:
Paper: Bazzill, Colorbok, Sandy Lion
Misc: Cricut, Mickey Font Cartridge, pop up dots, half read pearls

Three Cheers for Dad!
I always wanted to be a cheerleader. Unfortunately, I never got the chance. But, I do have pom poms now, and break them out for football season to cheer for my Patriots! You can always tell who the player's family members are at the games, they have a little extra bling on the shirts. Ray Allen's Mom (of the Boston Celtics) has this great jersey that she wears to her son's games that has rhinestones on his number. Her jersey inspired me to make this card. This card is a great way to let your Dad know he's #1!
The sentiment is computer generated. I cut the "D" out with my Cricut, and then applied the rhinestones.
Supplies:
Paper: DCWV, Recollections
Ink: Martha Stewart
Misc: Paper punches, rhinestones, sharpie pen, ribbon, cricut, hole punch, pop up dots

Notepad Purse
I saw this little purse on Donna Mundinger's blog, Popsicle Toes. She has the most wonderful projects that you can make using the Cricut. Of course, I didn't have the Paisley cart that she used! But, my very thoughtful kitties bought it for me for Mother's Day. How did they know?! I totally cased her purse, I just changed the papers. You can see her post here.
Supplies:
Paper: Bazzill, Color mates, Prima Marketing
Misc: Cricut, Bind-It-All, half pearls, paper punch, prima flower, ribbon, mini gel pen, pop up dots
I'm not sure I like the curly ribbon on mine, so I took pictures of it with and without, I'll let you decide which looks best.
Here is a picture of my fur babies, they are always together! Tedy is the little one and of course, Big Oscar. When I got Tedy, we thought he was a boy, but when I took "him" to get fixed, oh snap!, it's a girl! I still call her Tedy, she is named after Tedy Bruschi (my favorite New England Patriot) and Ted Williams (the greatest Red Sox player "evah"). Oscar is named after my Grandpa Oscar.
Make sure you check out Donna's blog, it's on my sidebar, if you need Cricut inspiration. Also, look at Bitten By The Bug and Bitten By The Bug II for more wicked awesome ideals.
I'm very proud of myself, I didn't order anything at the Papertrey Ink Release Party last night. I hope everything I wanted is sold out! We are going to Stampfest 2010 in Orlando on Friday, so I needed to save my money!
Thanks for stopping by,
Beth

Candy Bar Gift Boxes
My Dad's favorite candy bar is the Mars Bar. We couldn't find them for years. Then, one day at Walmart, there they were at a register. I think I screamed out loud. Now, every time I go to Walmart, I grab a bunch to save for him. My cats like to give him a Father's Day gift every year, they are very thoughtful that way! So, I came up with a idea to package them up. Somebody somewhere probably already thought of it, but I think it's a pretty nifty idea.
I took two clear card boxes and filled them with five candy bars each. They fit perfectly, who'da thunk it?! I found the Fluffles stamp on a clearance rack at Jo-Ann's. I stamped it twice, colored it to look like my fur babies, and then popped it up. I paper pieced the present. Using my nestabilities, I created the round tag and then finished it off with a belly band. My Dad will probably see this post before Father's Day, but I know he will act surprised.
Supplies:
Stamp: Stampendous-Fluffles
Paper: Papertrey Ink, The Paper Company
Ink: Memento
Misc: Clear card boxes, nestabilities, sharpie pen, copics, ribbon, pop up dots, white gel pen, candy bars

Greetings from Sunny Florida!
(Note: This is my second post for today, scroll down to see the previous post.)
It's wicked hot here in Florida, today the high is 97 degrees! I'll admit I haven't ventured outside. While my Internet was out, my air conditioning wasn't working either. It was very miserable here. But, I have a new air conditioning unit, and I had to turn it off because I got too cold!
I made this card using Eleanor from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. Her bathing dress and cap is paper pieced. After I cut Eleanor out, I adhered her onto the glitter card stock to simulate the ocean. The sentiment is from Custer's Last Stamp.
Supplies:
Stamps: Kraftin' Kimmmie-Eleanor, Custer's Last Stamp-Greetings from Sunny Florida
Paper: DCWV, Papertrey Ink, Provo Craft, Recollections, Creative Imaginations
Ink: Memento, Versafine
Misc: Copics, corner rounder, crystals, pop up dots

The set includes six cards, a notebook made with my Bind-It-All, with some pens and pencils.

Happy Graduation!
It's that time of year to celebrate all of the graduates. My nephew, David, just graduated from high school. Congrats to our little Davey!!
This card and altered candy bar would not only be perfect for the graduate in your life, but also as thank you cards and graduation party favors. The stamped image is a digital stamp from Stamping Boutique, Graduating Audrey. The sentiment is computer generated. The high school paper is from my local scrapbook store, Violette's. I put a link in the side bar on the right. If you are ever in the area, you should definitely check her store out. They are also going to be doing mail order as well, so check back to see when it is up and running. You won't be disappointed, it's a great store.
Supplies:
Digital Stamps: Stamping Boutique
Paper: DCWV, Recollections, Stamping Station

Card Buckets
My Internet has not been working for the last 2 weeks! After a bazillion calls to my provider and five service calls, it's finally working again! Yay!!
When I saw these little buckets at Target, I thought they would make a fun way to package a card set. I made the little fabric liners using fat quarters and some homemade embellishments. Each bucket holds six cards and envelopes, a few pens, and a matching altered clothespin.
Supplies:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink, Studio G, Dandelion Designs
Ink: Memento, Versafine
Paper: Cosmo Cricket, Imaginisce, Recollections, Bazzill, Bo Bunny
Misc: Fabric, buttons, paper punches, nestabilities, copics, ribbon, brads, clothespins, metal buckets, crystal bling, prima flowers, pop up dots
