Be Sweet To Your Feet!

(Edit: This is the second post of the day, scroll down to see the Valentine Paper Pouches).

I saw these great mani/pedi gifts on Splitcoast and decided to give it a try.

I made a few changes. First of all, I made two pocket pouches, attached them together at the top, and then wrapped some tulle ribbon around. The stamped image is from My Favorite Things, Girls Day In. The chair and ottoman was paper pieced, while the rest of the image was colored with Copics. I tied some bows on the sides to give it a little more stability. The pockets are filled with some manicure supplies, Valentine's Day socks, and some M & M's to enjoy while you are waiting for your polish to dry.

Supplies:
Stamps: My Favorite Things-Girls Day In
Ink: Memento
Paper: Martha Stewart, Core-dinations, Bazzill
Misc: Nestabilities, copics, paper punches, pop up dots, ribbon, nail polish remover, manicure supplies, socks, M & M's

Valentine Paper Pouches

I've been in a creative rut lately, everything that I have made has ended up in the trash can today! So, I decided to try and channel Michelle Wooderson and see if I could make something that is post worthy! So, this is what I came up with, a Valentine Paper Pouch.

I made the paper pouch using a lunch sack. You can find the tutorial here. The paper is from the dollar spot at Target that I bought last year. I sponged some Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink to the doily. I stamped the sentiment onto the pink carnival tag and added some little flowers that I punched with a Martha Stewart Punch. Then, I tied a bow around it using some Martha Stewart Craft Seam Binding that I found on clearance at Michaels. To complete my homage to Michelle, instead of using regular tissue paper, I used some extra tissue from one of my sewing patterns. The little packages of M & M's complete the perfect sweet treat for your Valentine!

Supplies:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink-Limitless Labels
Paper: Unknown-Target Dollar Spot
Ink: Versafine, Tim Holtz
Misc: Paper lunch sack, craft seam binding, carnival ticket, paper punch, half pearls, tissue paper, M & M's, doily

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today is my Mom's birthday. Here is a little sneak peak at her card and gift box. I'm not going to show what is inside, I have to leave a little bit of a surprise for her.

I absolutely love these little Martha Stewart doilies. This time I used the Happy Birthday stamp from the JustRite set, Just A Note. I used my Big Kick to cut the box out. It is Bigz XL Box #3. Paper punched flowers, gold rhinestones, ribbon, and a little butterfly were added to bling up the doily. Or as my Mom would say, "I tricked it up".

Supplies:
Stamp: JusRite-Just A Note
Ink: Versafine
Paper: Bazzill, October Afternoon
Misc: Sizzix Bigz XL Die #3, Big Kick, rhinestones, copics, paper punches, doily, ribbon, sticky strip, pop up dots

My Mom does read the comments, so feel free to leave her a birthday wish if you like.

I Love You Card and Nugget Tin

(Edit: I'm still learning the ins and outs of my new computer. I have to use a new editor for my pictures, so please bear with me as I try to edit the pictures.)

I never get tired of nugget tins, and I have a whole bunch in my stash. I'm trying to use up stuff, so I can buy more!

This is a quick little gift set you can make for any occasion. I used a lot of Martha Stewart products. The paper is from last year's Valentine pad. I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock, then punched it out. You could stamp directly on the doily, but I was afraid that I would screw it up! Thin ribbon was weaved in the doily. I punched out the little leaves and flowers and adhered them to the doily. Half pearls were added to accent the flowers and the card.

Supplies:
Stamp: Stampin' Up-I Love You
Ink: Versafine
Paper: Martha Stewart, Bazzill, The Paper Company
Misc: Paper punches, ribbon, doily, half pearls, nuggets, mint tin, pop up dots, nugget tin

Santa Head Tutorial

Sorry it took me so long to do this tutorial. This way you can get a jump start on next years decorations! Yeah, right, I still am trying to get my craft table cleaned off of assorted Christmas items.

The beard is cut using the 3 inch scalloped circle Nestability. I embossed it using the swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder.

For the face, I cut a 1 3/4 inch circle of flesh colored paper. You can either glue it to the top of the white scallop circle or you can punch a hole in the white scallop circle with a 1 1/2 inch punch and adhering it to the back. The eyes are punched with a 1/2 inch punch. The nose is punched with a 5/8 punch. For the moustache, I used a five petal flower punch and cut off three of the petals. The punch I used is a Paper Shapers five petal flower punch and it's the big one.

For the hat, I cut a triangle of red paper. The long edge is going to be 3 inches and the two short edges are going to be two inches each. The brim is a strip of glitter cardstock 3 1/4 x 3/4 inches. I used a corner rounder on the corners. The pom pom on his hat is 3/4 inch circle punched out of glitter card stock.

I added a little white gel pen to the eyes, some pink chalk to his cheeks and a pop up dot under his nose for a little dimension.

I hope this tutorial makes sense!

Yay, I finally got my new computer!

Just a quick update, I finally got a new laptop. I'm trying to get it set up, and it's a slow process because as it turns out, I'm not as computer literate as I thought! I'm also trying to finish up some Dora the Explorer party favors for my god-daughters 2nd birthday party. I promise to be back soon, I've been working on some crochet flowers and I'm super psyched for the projects that I have used them for. Hope everyone is well and everyone that is getting this latest snow storm is safe and warm!

My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club - Getting Sketchy

This is my first time participating in the Wednesday Stamp Club over at My Favorite Things.

For my card, I used two different My Favorite Things stamp sets: What's Up Cupcake? and a sentiment from Love At First Sight. My favorite type of cupcakes are yellow cake with chocolate frosting, so I decided to incorporate that into my card. I stamped the cupcakes and stand onto Bazzill paper, colored them in with copics, applied diamond glaze on the frosting, and added rhinestone cherry to the top. The designer paper is So Delish Stripe and Everything But The Kitchen Sink from TPC Studios. I used flat lace and a paper punch to make my scallops. It kind of reminds me of a window awning like at a bakery. A little ribbon and a rhinestone to the sentiment was added to bling it up a little bit!

Here is a close up of the cupcakes.

Supplies:
Stamps: My Favorite Things-Love At First Sight & What's Up Cupcake?
Ink: Memento, Versafine
Paper: Bazzill, TPC Studios
Misc: Copics, ribbon, rhinestones, diamond glaze, nestabilities, lace, paper punch, pop up dots

If you are interest in participating in this challenge, you can check out the MFT blog here for all of the details. There you will find the sketch and some great samples created by the Challenge Team.

All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge: Tissue Box

Here is my entry for the All that Scraps Wednesday Challenge. This week, we were instructed to make a tissue box using a stamp from the All That Scraps Store. I decided to use Suzette, from Kraftin' Kimmie. This is going to be a cheer up gift for my friend, Victoria.

Suzette was stamped with Versafine Ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I colored her with Copics and paper pieced her petticoat. Diamond Glaze was applied to her lips and shoes. The feather was double stamped, colored, and popped up with a pop up dot. I felt that she needed a ruby earring, so I adhered a red rhinestone to her ear.

The base was made out of Bazzill cardstock. The side panels and top panel were made with Graphic 45 paper. I added a ribbon and bow with a prima flower. The top has some prima flowers and my first attempt at rolled paper roses.

Supplies:
Stamp: Kraftin' Kimmie-Suzette
Ink: Versafine
Paper: Bazzill, Graphic 45
Misc: Copics, embossing powder, pop up dots, ribbon, rhinestones, sticky strip, scor-pal, prima flowers, paper punches, nestabilities

Please Pardon The Appearance...

Please excuse the mess my blog has become. I wanted to change it, but because my computer is acting like a #@*& and I want to *#^*, and then @*&%%^*(, and I just want to *&#^$#(* off the balcony. I'm also not as computer savvy as my parents, so everything just takes me a little while. So, please bear with me, I hope to have it looking good again soon. I'm having a bad day, I still can't get my big tv to work. So, I decided to go on Splitcoast Stampers to look for some inspiration. I looked at my gallery, and someone wrote a comment that hurt my feelings. Anyone that knows me, understands that I am a HUGE New England/Boston Sports fan. They also know that I NEVER NEVER NEVER talk "insert bad word here" about other teams. (I only do that with my sister, Laura.) I never go up to anyone and say, "Oh, my team is so good, we are going to win and beat you etc.....". All the teams are good in their own way. It's just not good sportsmanship. So, I'm feeling a little depressed today because of all my electronic problems, and I read that someone commented on one of my cards, not the appropriate place/time, about how a certain team is going to win the Superbowl. Now, I know that this person probably really didn't think it would upset me, but it did. I've had a few people joke with me about my Red Sox avatar, usually Yankee fans, but they do it in a funny way and it's ok. I didn't take any of it personally, but this time I did.

So, needless I feel worse that than I did before the computer mess. The only thing that will cheer me up at this point is if Kevin Garnett (of the Boston Celtics) and Tedy Bruschi (former New England Patriot and current anchor on Sports Center) knocked on my door with a new laptop and a mushroom pizza from Papa Ginos! They would need to bring the Brighthouse guy to help me set up the internet in my bedroom though, because that is where I do do my crafting. Right now, my computer is in my living room, and when I'm making something, I have to run from room to room!

Thank you all for listening.

Beth

Today was a total waste of Make-Up!

I'm definitely having one of those days! Now, my tv in the living room is on the "fritz"! I'm afraid to say what is going to break next, out loud!

Here is a card for anyone who is having a bad day! The sentiment is computer generated. I used the My Favorite Things Die-Namics Framed Greetings die/stamp set to make the border on the sentiment and to cut it out. The make up is from a Quickutz Double Cut die. I added a little Martha Stewart (or as we like to say in Boston, Mahtha) doiley, ribbon and a little bling to finish it off. Ta-dah , it's done!

Supplies:
Stamp: My Favorite Things-Framed Greetings Die-Namics
Ink: Versafine
Paper: DCWV, The Paper Company
Misc: Pop up dots, quickutz make up die, doiley, half pearls, rhinestones, copics, ribbon

Lollipop Ella

This cute little girl is a digital stamp from by LORi Designs. Her name is Lollipop Ella. I printed her out, colored her in, and then popped her up with pop up dots on a nestabilities oval. The oval is mounted a mat stack die 1 from Papertrey Ink. Using Martha Stewart punches, I made some little flowers to accent the frame.

Please excuse the darkness of the picture. It's cloudy today and I'm still having computer issues. I decided to go buy my new computer yesterday after it took me 15 minutes to send an e-mail link to my sister. I figured I had enough cat food to last Big Oscar and Tedy for a few days until payday and I would just do it. Well, I went to Best Buy, and the one I could afford was out of stock! So, it will be a few more days until they get a shipment in.

Supplies:
Stamp: by LORi Designs-Lollipop Ella (digital)
Paper: DCWV, Bazzill
Misc: Copics, MS paper punches, half pearls, nestabilities, button, baker's twine, papertrey ink die mat stack 1,ribbon, white gel pen, pop up dot
