Happy Easter to One of My Favorite Peeps

Happy Easter, although it's a little late in the day!  I took the picture of the card before I went to work, and I didn't get a chance to upload it as I was running late....again!

It's actually a Pinterest inspired card, the original one you can find here.  I just made a few changes.  I didn't have the basket die, so I had to improvise.  The basket base is actually the My Favorite Things Picnic Basket Die Namics.  To make the handles, I used the circle Nestabilities.

Paper Shred Bird's Nests

Making these are a messy, easy, fun, and inexpensive way to spend your Friday night and a new way for the Easter Bunny to hide the candy!

The nest part of the project was the messy part!  I have some partially filled bags of paper shred laying around (from previous projects) and figured that the kraft color would make a good nest.  I have these little blue Pyrex ramekins/souffle cups.  I turned them upside down and covered them with plastic wrap.

Next, I took some regular school glue and mixed it 50/50 with tap water.  My first try, I used Modge Podge, but that is expensive and my next was really shiny and it looked weird.  I dunked handfuls of the paper shred in the glue/water mix, squeezed it out then I molded it around the bowl.  

I let them dry for about 12 hours, then peeled them off of the bowls.  The inside of the nest was still a little wet (it's from the plastic wrap), so I let them dry out a bit more.

More fun with the 3 Birds on Parade Cricut Cartridge!  I love this cartridge and have been wanting to use this cut for some time now.  I cut it out, used several layers not to mention pop dots and added a little bow for finish it off.  I cut the tag using Nestabilities and stamped the sentiment.

I finished them off by adding some multi colored paper shred and Dollar Store plastic eggs.  It's my intention to put candy in the eggs, but I need to buy some more as I've already eaten the bag I bought already!

Mini Easter Baskets

These are a super sweet, easy, and fun little baskets to dress up your Easter dinner table.  Not to mention, great for co-workers, teachers, friends and the kiddos!

They are made using 2 ounce portion cups with lids.  I took a miniature cupcake paper and trimmed it down a bit and then attached it to the lid with a pop up dot.

I added a little bit of paper shred and added a little bit of candy.  This actually is holding three chocolate eggs.

To make the handle, I cut the top layer with the My Favorite Things Scallop Ribbon Border Die-Namics Die.  Then I mounted it onto a strip of white card stock. To finish it off, I stamped the sentiment and then added little bows on each side.  The handle is hot glued onto the portion cup.

Just be careful, it makes the portion cup hot and you don't want to burn yourself!

While, it looks like I only made one.......I actually made kits to make these.  You get four in the kit and there is a pink one, a yellow one, a green one, and a teal one in each kit.  Just pop on over to my Etsy Shop if you want to makes some of these.

Crocheted Bunny Baskets

I've been doing a lot of crocheting lately.  I made these cute baskets out of 1/2 lb. deli containers.  They are a nice size and will hold a lot of candy!

The ears and handles are made out of plastic canvas.  I bought a pom pom maker at Michaels and it makes it so much easier (and faster) to make the pom poms.

You Crack Me Up!

I picked up these little egg cartons at Hobby Lobby a few months back.  They were half off so of course I had to buy two sets!  I thought they would make cute little Easter baskets.

I stamped, paper pieced, and popped up this awesome Purple Onion You Crack Me Up Bunny and adhered him the top of the carton.  Add a sentiment, button, and some baker's twine and it's complete!

I thought this side looked a little naked, so I made a bow using My Favorite Things Bow Die-Namics and stuck it in with a little of Scor-Tape.

Next, I had to add my favorite part....the candy!  I found these tiny bottles of nail polish at Wal-Mart, after Christmas, in the clearance aisle.  They are a perfect size for this egg carton.

Everyone one knows that I can't just make one of anything, so here goes.....

Hoppy Easter

 Hoppy Easter and candy is on the way, yay!!!

I'm always looking for fun new ways to give gifts.  This time, I used the Cricut Craft Room and designed this handy box.  It has two pockets, one on each side, and in the center is handy center pocket that is perfect to hold a gift card or a small little present.

I colored and paper pieced my hunny bunny, and then adhered her to the front of the box with pop up dots.   I am hopelessly addicted to the Dollar Spot at Target and buy (more like hoard ) the holiday themed pencil packs like they are the Hope Diamonds!  I decided to break open one of my spring packs and make a pinwheel.

Edible Easter Baskets - Part 2

I made some Edible Easter baskets a few years back, and they are definitely one of my most favorite and popular posts.  I decided to make some more, but I found box of  Rice Krispie Treats Mini Squares at Walmart:

I thought that these would make cute baskets.  They are also a more affordable option if you need to make more than one.  From the box, I was able to make 7 baskets, which left me 3 leftover to eat!

They are easily assembled using a hot glue gun.  I embellished the basket with a variety of paper punches, dies and one of my favorite stamps from Dandelion Designs.

Peanut Butter Cup Bunnies

Here are some cute, easy, and inexpensive little treats from the Easter Bunny that will surely bring a smile from anyone's face.  I bought a bag of mini Reeses Peanut Butter cups at Walmart.  They were on $3.00 per bag.

First thing I  did was glue the peanut butter cups together.  Then I added a fluffy white pompom tail. The faces and feet where made using a variety of paper punches, while the ears I cut using my Cricut.  I used the tear drop tag from the Tags, Bags & Boxes cartridge.

I can never just make one of anything!  There was enough peanut butter cups in the bag to make 17 bunnies.  That left 3 peanut butter cups for me to eat!
