Crocheted Heart Valentines

I am totally addicted to making these little crocheted hearts. They make up so quick and they are super easy. I found the pattern here at Little Birdie Secrets.

To make these Valentines, I stamped the stem from Papertrey Ink Flower Fusion #1. The sentiment is from a Craft Smart $1 stamp I bought at Michaels last year. I glued the hearts on with some tacky white glue. A little ribbon was wrapped around the top of the card, a bow with a button center completed my card. By changing the sentiment, you could use this card for any occasion.

Button Heart Valentine

I wish you could see this card in person, it's so much nicer than the picture. I took a bunch of pictures, but none of them came out really good!

I fell in loved with all of the button wreaths that where on the web during the Christmas holiday season. Like everyone else, I have a huge button collection, so when I received some little wooden heart frames in one of the My Favorite Things VIP package, and I got an idea. Using the little frames as a base, I glued buttons all around to make a heart button wreath. I've been using a lot of my Papertrey Ink goodies lately, and thought the wreath would be perfect with Button Boutique stamp set.

I stamped the button card with the border. The header was stamped, then cut out, and attached with pop up dots. I added a little Martha Stewart doily and then glued the heart wreath on. I made a button using matching paper, a piece of an empty cereal box, and the Papertrey Ink Button Die. The red heart doily is from Party City. For the sentiment, I cut out a Double Ended Banners Die and then glued on some alphabet beads.

Valentine Hearts

This is another one of the cards I made at my sister's house on Sunday. I wanted to post it earlier this week, but I ended being admitted to the hospital. I got home last night, so better late than never.

I found this super sweet Jilli Bean Soup paper at Violettes a few weeks ago. I absolutely love it and thought it would make some perfect valentines. I cut a scallop border strip with the My Favorite Things Scallop Border Die and inked the edges with some white ink. The hearts were cut using Nestabilities. The edge of the larger heart was inked as well, just to give it a little extra dimension.

The button was made using the Papertrey Ink Button Die and an empty cereal box. I cut make a "chipboard" like embellishment by cutting four buttons out of the cereal box, gluing them together with a glue stick, and then I glued the button shape that I cut out of the patterned paper on top. I tied a bow with some pearl cotton, and it was done! The heart was attached with a pop up dot.

You Make Life Fun!

This is one of the cards I made during our Superbowl/Craft-A-Palooza Party we had yesterday. I just have one thing to say about the game.....bummer. Oh well, what is a girl to do? But, we had a great time.

I used several Papertrey Ink goodies on this card. The Double Ended Pendant Die and the Handwritten Notes Stamp Set were used for the sentiment. I used one of my crocheted flowers, a button, some pink baker's twine and the Beautiful Blooms II #1 Die to make the embellishment. I cut the scalloped circle with the Nestabilitities and attached it to a doily.

Laura and I spent the day crafting, she had a table set up for each of us right in front of the tv. This is what it looked liked before I started:

By, halftime, it was covered and I was sitting on the floor using the Big Shot because I ran out of room on my table! We ate some good food, my nephew Joe made some of his famous ribs. For all of you Anchorman fans out there, I had ribs for lunch! Cupcakes, brownies, nachos, english muffin crab appetizers, homemade mac-n-cheese, little smokies....I'm still stuffed!

I am looking at my pictures, and realized the only group shot I got is me with Chloe. She is the momma cat to Wally, Tedy, Tessie, Bruce and Jilly Boo. Unfortunately, it's not the most flattering shot of her, as sometimes happens when you have babies, your "you know whats" sag a little!

Blooming Button Bits Valentines

I saw these super cute party invitations that Danielle Flanders made on her blog. I wanted to do something similar for Valentines for my Mom's knitting group. You can see Danielle's post here on her blog.

I stamped the stems onto the glassine bag. I punched out some little hearts then stamped sentiments from Friendship Jar Spring Fillers onto the hearts. The hearts are attached with pop up dots. A few paper punched butterflies with some rhinestones were added to completed the bag.

For the inside of the Valentine, I inked the edges of a piece of cardstock and added some baby ric rack trim. The sentiment is also from the Friendship Jar Spring Fillers set. The best part of the Valentine is the Reeses Peanut Butter Heart that I attached on to it! I just slipped it into the the little bag, punched a few holes and tied it with some pretty pink seam binding.

Valentine Jars

I made these Valentine's Day Jars with matching tags for my family. I used one of Michelle Wooderson's posts as my inspiration. You can see it here.

I used my Gypsy/Cricut to cut the tags. The little jar was cut out using the Papertrey Ink Jar Die and then stamped using the Friendship Jar Summer Fillers Stamp Set. Tthe pinked square is from Papertrey Ink. I crocheted the little heart, added a button and tied it of with some baker's twine. The receipients name was stamped onto a piece of cardstock that was die cut with the Papertrey Ink Double Ended Pennant Die. It was embellished with some little glitter hearts and attached with a red heart paper clip.

I cut a square of fabric to cover the top of the jar and then screwed the lid on. The tag is attached with a strip of red fabric tied in a bow.

Valentine Swap Cards

My Mom is participating in a Valentine's Day Card Swap, so I made up ten cards for her. That sounds kind of funny, she is participating in the swap, and I made the cards!

I wanted to do something quick, easy, and had a "vintagey" feel. The actual card is made with kraft cardstock. I adhered some ledger paper (both ivory and pink) to the front. Using paper punches and Nestabilities, I cut out a bunch of hearts and just attached them to the card. I added some pearl cotton, buttons and some half pearls to finish them up.

I was able to use a lot of scraps on these cards, including some Christmas paper!

Happy Birthday with Noble Tilda!

This is the card and gift bag that I made for my Mom for her Birthday. I've been on a crochet "kick", making lots of little flowers and hearts for Valentine's Day. One of my regular guests at work made these cute little tatted butterflies, so I decided to incorporate both of these on my card.

Noble Tilda was colored with Copics and her dress is paper pieced. I used the My Favorite Things Die-Namics Rolled Roses Die to make the little flowers. The banner was made with Papertrey Ink Double Ended Banner Die and the Handwritten Notes Stamp set.

The gift bag was made using the Papertrey Ink Front & Center #1 Die and a paper lunch sack.

Another Ugly Card

I had great aspirations for this card, but it came out really hideous! I saw something similar in a magazine, and it was a really beautiful card. But, my came out incredibly ugly!

I used the Sizzix Sizzlit Decorative Strip Die Scallops Giant to make the scallops. I tied a bow around the card and added a rhinestone flower. The sentiment is stamped on a Papertrey Ink Pennant Die cut.

Simple Things Gift Bag Set

Here is a little gift bag/card set that can be used for any occassion. I used the Papertrey Ink Front & Center #1 Die to make the bag front and back. This die is awesome! You just cut a front and back and then sandwich a lunch sack in the middle and presto! you have a little gift bag. I cut the lunch sack down to 5 inches and then adhered the front and back pieces. Some ribbon, a homemade crocheted flower and a wooden button completed this gift bag.

To make the matching card, I used the Hero Arts Time To Enjoy stamp for the sentiment. I added a few paper punched daisies to frame the sentiment.

I love the sweet little face of the Tilda stamps. I though this little Tilda would be perfect with the Cosmo Cricket Odds & Ends Mini Deck. I colored her in with the Copics and then paper pieced her dress. I added some tiny pearls to make a necklace.

The flowers are paper punched and then spritzed with a little glitter spray. A few buttons, some more little pearls, and some ribbon completed my card.

Happy 7th Night of Hanukkah!

I made this card for my Mom. It's hard to find cute Hanukkah stamps, or perhaps I'm not looking in the right places! So, I decided to combine one of my favorite Pure Innocence stamps, Enjoy Every Moment, and a couple of Craft Smart Stamps from the Michaels $1 area.

I love the side step cards, so I used the tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers. It can be found here. Since I couldn't find any cute Hanukkah paper either, I decided to use this cute cute snowflake paper from a Recollections paper stack. My Hanukkah girl was colored with Copics and her dressed is paper pieced. She is attached to a Martha Stewart tag with pop up dots. The menorah medallion was made with a Craft Smart stamp, some Stickles, paper punches and a Martha Stewart doily. I had a couple of Star of David Jolee by You embellishments from a few years ago. A little ribbon, some pearls, and button completed my card.

This is a first for me, gift bags for horses! Jenny asked me to make something to hold the treats she bought for the horses at the two barns she rides at. I wanted to make something simple, festive, and personalized for each horse. There are ten all together.

I used some little paper lunch sacks, a few paper punches, some Joelee's by You Horse embellishments, a little ribbon, jingle bells, clothespin, and Stampendous holly stickers. The labels were computer generated. I used the Nestabilities Labels #8 to make the bag topper.

Soda Bottle Christmas Wrap!

I'm always looking for fun ways to package gifts. I bought some fun t-shirts for the kids this year, and decided to wrap them in a empty Diet Coke bottle.

It was really easy to do, I just carefully cut a out a part of the bottle on the label with a razor blade. I stuffed some paper shred in the bottom and a handful of candy. The t-shirt was rolled up and wrapped in a piece of tissue paper. Then I stuffed the t-shirt into the bottle. Using clear packing tape, I adhered the piece of bottle that I cut off. Then, I made a belly band with some matching paper, some baker's twine and a few buttons. A bow was wrapped around the neck of the bottle. For the gift tag, I just covered a clothespin with some paper and attached the coffee gift card holder to the bow.

Simple, simple....I grew a holiday pimple!

Coffee Gift Card Holders

I bought some Starbucks Gift Cards for the kids and wanted to make a fancy gift card holder. I had originally seen the idea July 2011 Cards Magazine on page 147. It was made by Kim Hughes. You can check out her blog Paper Hugs and Stamped Kisses.

I used my new Quickutz Hot Drink Die that I bought at our new Hobby Lobby here in Lakeland. I also personalized the gift card holders with some alphabet beads. After I finished the one I made for Joe, I laughed to myself as Joe is another word for coffee! I'm sure that I'm the only one that thinks that's funny.....I'm a little sleep deprived and I just sucked an iced cappuccino down, so pardon my behavior!

I love snowman, so I thought I would make Jenny's just a little bit different than the ones for the boys.

Quick Teacher Gifts

So, I'm still doing the last minute scramble to get everything done! Here are some quick gifts that I made for my favorite teachers. I bought these apple tins at the Target Dollar Spot last fall. The tag is made using Papertrey Ink's Button Boutique Set. I used the Button Card Die to cut out the main tag, which is made out of some chalkboard paper. The little apple was cut out of some cork board paper. This was the first time I had ever used the cork board paper, it cuts really nice.

While I was making this, I thought it would also be good for Valentine's Day. Just substitute the little holly for some small hearts!

Gift Card Tin

This is what Oscar and Tedy made for their Grandpa for Christmas this year. Grandpa likes to buy Dremel Tools for his model railroad, and his favorite place to buy them as at Lowe's. So, I picked up a Lowes gift card for them.

To make the gift card holder, Oscar and Tedy took an empty International Delight Coffee Tin and covered it designer paper. They added some ribbon, a paper punched holly sprig, and a Quickutz Reindeer. They carefully stamped out Grandpa on a piece of ledger paper.

A little paper shred was put in the bottom of the tin. Then we put Grandpa's favorite candy (tiny Snickers bars) in the tin and then nestled the gift card in the middle. The lid was put on and a bow was tied around it.

I put the gift card tin in one of my Holiday Bitty Bags which I personalized and added a surprise for my Dad from me!

Christmas Bitty Bag & Tag

So, I'm in panic mode trying to get my gifts done. Is everyone else going through the same thing? I hope I'm not the only one!

I made this Holiday Bitty Bag & Tag for my stepmother for Christmas. I used an old favorite stamp set, Polar Pals from Stampin' Up. I stamped the little Eskimo girl onto kraft cardstock, then colored her in with a red and black Bic Marker. Liquid Applique was applied to her fur cuffs. She is popped up on a tag made from Nestabilities. The designer paper I had in my scrap stash, so I don't know who it is from! It's adorable paper, that's all I know! I personalized the tag with her name and added a snowflake embellishment that I made with a few paper punches, a button, some baker's twine and a spritz of glitter.

Dad and Judy love to watch movies, so in the Bitty Bag are two DVD's and a bag of candy to enjoy while watching the movies. I decided to go "green" with my wrapping paper, so I cut open a paper sack and stamped it with Rubber Stampede Snowflakes stamp. I made a matching tag for the candy bag and another kraft sack. A clothespin was covered with a strip of the paper and a bow/button was hot glued on.

Reindeer & Snowman Triangle Treat Boxes

Here is a quick little project I whipped up to give to my regular guests at work. I used the Inky Antics Triangle Treat Box to make the box. Each box holds three Hershey Kisses.

The Snowman is made from a variety of punches. I put it in a little plastic treat bag and made a tag using one of my most favorite sentiment stamps from Dandelion Designs.

The Reindeer is also made from a variety of paper punches. His/her antlers are made using the leaf from the Cricut Doodlecharms Cartridge.

I just finished up some Holiday Bitty Bags for the Winter Holiday Gift Giving Season. These are great little bags are perfect for packaging your holiday gifts and since they are fabric bags, they can be re-used and re-gifted!

Snowman Flower Pots

I love those little flower pots that are in the Dollar Spot at Target. They are so cute! They had these little ones called Carpet Of Snow, and I thought they would make cute little snowmen. You could use these as little party favors or place card holders for your holiday dinner table.

They are really simple to make, I just used some Nestabilties and a variety of paper punches to make the snowman. The sentiment is from the JustRite Christmas Mini Sentiments Set. I traced the wrapper onto some white cardstock and wrapped it around the flower pot. The snowman is attached with small strip of cardstock that I cut/folded into a "V" shape, secured with a piece of Scor Tape to both the top of the flower pot and the back of the snowman. Then a piece of ribbon was tied around the pot for extra security and to cover the little strip up.

Elf Paper Punch Art Gift Set

I have a friend at work who loves to plan the perfect for Christmas for her family. I made her this little gift set to get her started. I wanted to do something with a little elf motif. I combined my Cricut and my trusty paper punches, and this is what I came up with:

The contents of her gift set include a card to send and a notepad for her Black Friday shopping. The stamped sentiment on the card is from Dandelion Designs and on the notepad is from Papertrey Ink, Take Note and Just The Ticket.

To keep the notepad closed, I attached an elf to the back of a clothespin. This way it will also keep any receipts in her notepad so they don't get lost in her purse.

I packaged this little set in a wine bag that I got from Target. They had them under the register, and I sweet talked the cashier into giving me a few! You could probably get them from your local package store (liquor store). I made a tag with another elf that is attached with a glitter clothespin. This way, she can reuse the package and the tag!

Christmas Sleigh

This is my first project I made with my Gypsy. I'm very pleased with the way it came out. The sleigh was cut out from the Paper Dolls Dress Up Cartridge. The edges were sponged with some white ink. Then I made a small box and adhered it to the sleigh sides. To embellish it, I used the Quickutz Holly Die, some buttons, and baker's twine.

I filled the little sleigh with some tissue paper and paper shred. I found these great Lindor Peppermint Truffles at Target. They are really good, I had to try them to make sure that they weren't poisoned! The sentiment stamp is from Dandelion Designs. I felt like it needed a little something more, so I made this tree with some spools, Modge Podge, and matching paper.

Halloween Candy Pouches

I made 11 little candy pouches for some friends and family for Halloween. They are simple to make, I just used a 6 X 12 piece of patterned paper, some ScorTape and a crimper. You make the little sack, fill it with candy, seal the other side, and then pink the edges. The ghost is from the Cricut Cartridge Paper Doll Dress Up. I paper punched some eyes. To personalize each pouch, I stamped their names. Then I added a little embellishment and a black seam binding bow.

Halloween Goody Bags

I made these little goody bags for my Mom's knitting group that meets each Monday. The tags were made using my favorite "Another Halloween In The Bag!" stamp. I added some googly eyes and a pumpkin embellishment from K & Company. The spider is a Martha Stewart Paper Punch, which I punched twice, folded one, and then glued it on top for a 3-D looked. I spritzed a little glimmer mist on the spider. I filled a medium sized glassine bag with some candy, and attached the tag with a little clothespin that was decoupaged with some matching paper.

Happy Haunting Tag

I've been watching Paranormal Activity 1 and 2 today. Now, I love scary movies, but these are actually scaring the living daylights out of me. I had to turn the second one off just a few minutes ago because I knew what was coming! It's almost to the end, but I just can't do it. Maybe if it was still daylight, I could finish it, but no way! Vampire Candy Tubes

My sister gave me this huge plastic tube and asked if I could do something with it. It's this ginormous acetate box. Here is the tutorial on Splitcoast for the acetate box. Well, it's been sitting in the corner of my closet for some time now, and I finally decided what I could make. Using the same concept as the candy bar wrappers. I made the heads and hair using the Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut Cartridge and paper punches to make the faces. The tags are made using JustRite Witch Way To The Treats Stamp Set, a paper punched pumpkin and Nestabilities.

Halloween Candy House

Have you ever seen those little plastic houses at Michaels? They are in the front of the store, with the different colored M & M's. I decided to decorate one of Halloween.

I made a pattern so I could wrap the cardstock around the house. The roof is embossed with the Bubbles Cuttlebug Embossing folder. The windows are made using the Papertrey Ink Stamp Set, Home Made. I cut a little rectangle out of cardstock for the door. The fence is the Martha Stewart Fence punch. Then, I added a few Recollections embellishments and some paper punch pumpkins and it was done. It would have been finished quicker, but I was watching a scary movie at the same time!

The best part, it's filled with candy corn!

Halloween Test Tube Treats

Here are some test tube treat holders that I have been working on. I was recently promoted to trainer at my full time job, so my schedule has been all messed up. I'm hoping that it will start to calm down now, and I can get back to my regular schedule and be able to get back to my regular crafty schedule! I'm definitely going through withdrawal!

I made five of these treat holders, unfortunately, one did photograph well and somebody (we won't mention any names, Tedy) kept sitting in the picture, so I didn't get a good shot of the fifth one.

I used the template here for the instructions. The test tubes are from Martha Stewart. I decorated them with a variety of papers, some paper punches, and the Quickutz Cauldron. I added some orange Stickles o the top of the cauldrons, but I had to do this twice, as somebody (Tedy) sat on them and I had to scrape orange glitter off her butt! At least she is festive for fall season!

I had these spider tea light holders packed in my Halloween decorations. I decided to transform into some fun candy holders

I wrapped a strip of black cardstock around where the tea light is supposed to go, forming a tube. The tube was stuffed with some green paper shred. I filled a pretzel bag, half way, with some candy corn, and inserted it in the tube. After I tied a bow around the top of the candy bag (and trimmed off the excess), I made a tag using the Bugs and Hisses stamp from Stampendous. The little witches hat is from a Quickutz die.

The spider's face/head was made using Nestabilities, and paper punches.

Rockin' Birthday Gift Card Holder

My sister asked me to make a guitar shaped gift card holder for my nephew, Joe, who is celebrating his 17th birthday on Saturday. When did that boy get so old?!

So, for inspiration, I've been listening to Def Leppard, Poison, REO Speedwagon, Styx, Van Halen and all of the Monsters of Rock! I'm not sure my neighbors have appreciated my loud singing, but in order to fully appreciated Arena Rock, you have to let it rip!

Onto the details of my project....I used the Cricut Rock Princess Cartridge to make the guitar. It's cut at 8 1/2 inches. I cut several layers and sandwiched them with foam tape. I kind of messed it up a little bit and I ran out of the metallic paper, so I fudged it a little. I'm not sure Joe will be able to tell, so it's all good. I cut two guitar pieces for the back and adhered them together. The neck of the guitar is a little flimsy and this helped make it a little more durable. A simple pocket was made using my trusty Scor-pal and adhered with some Scor-tape. The sentiment is computer generated.

(Hold on, I'm doing my guitar solo to Panama by Van Halen....)

The front and the back are attached using a tiny brad, so the guitar front sort of swings to the side to reveal the gift card inside. I added a little bling to totally trick my guitar out.

It's kind of hard to photograph that shiny metallic paper without getting a glare, so I took several pictures. It looks much better in person, I'm quite pleased with the way it came out, I almost want to keep it for myself and tell Laura that I didn't have time to make it!

This is one of my favorite Kraftin Kimmie stamps, Pick Your Poison. I thought it would go perfect with this empty Crown bottle. I dusted off my watercolor pencils and blender pen and colored her dress and hair. I used Copics to color her flesh, as I like the way it looks better than with the pencils. It has been a long time since I used the pencils, and I'm a little rusty, but I think she came out ok.

The fence is from an old Sizzix die , the pumpkin, bat and moon are all from paper punches. I sponged a little ink on the edges of the pumpkin and moon to give it a little dimension. It took a little while to put all the candy corn in it, as the opening of the bottle is kind of small, so I could only put one or two pieces in at a time. I used some sticky strip to attach the base onto the bottle, but then used some foam tape to attach the moon, pumpkin, and my "Poisoner"!

Fall Toilet Paper!

Like the donuts, I think I may be taking the toilet paper thing too far! In my defense, I love pumpkins and scarecrows go perfectly with pumpkins, so I HAD to make a scarecrow.

It was pretty easy to make. I just use some unbleached muslin for the base. Then, I hot glued some raffia for the hair. The hat is made with some designer paper that I had bought last year. It is only single sided, so I used two pieces back to back. It took a few practice runs before I perfected it. The edges of the hat are inked with some Tim Holtz Tea Dyed Distress Ink. To make his face, I used two buttons and some paper punches. I very CAREFULLY used a Sharpie Pen to make his mouth.

This little embellishment on his hat was made using the Button Boutique Papertrey Ink Die. A paper punched pumpkin and a Quickutz bird completed the patch.

BBTB2 Challenge-3D TBB&M

This is my entry for the Bitten By The Bug 2 Challenge, a 3-D box from the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More Cricut Cartridge.

I made the little spider from a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup and some paper punches. Using clear acetate, I cut the triangle box from the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More Cartridge. I added a some green paper shred and made a little "nest" with candy corn and pumpkins for the spider. The top is held closed with a bow. I used the Justrite set, "Witch Way To The Treats" set to make the medallion for the center of the bow. It's kind of hard to see in the picture, but I added a little orange rhinestone on the spider.

Pop! Pop! Fizz! Fizz!...

Good Morning! Here is a great way let you know how much you appreciate your favorite teacher. I printed the sentiment out on the computer. Using the Cricut Preserves Cartridge, I cut the center of the apple out on clear acetate. This way, I could put the clear part over my sentiment (so it's centered), traced it, and then cut it out. It was pretty simple, except, I can't find the overlay for the Preserves Cartridge! Dang it! I looked in everywhere for it! So, I had to keep referring back to the handbook to see what buttons to push. This made it took a lot longer. I cut each layer (except the sentiment) twice and sandwiched the layers with foam tape to give it a little extra dimension. Using my Crop-A-Dile, I punched holes on either side of the apple stem to insert the ribbon. This holds the tag onto the bottle, and the awesome teacher can easily remove the tag ( without ripping the paper) and enjoy the refreshing beverage.

Halloween Candy Bar Wrappers

I found the idea to make these candy bar wrappers in magazine while I was waiting to have a prescription filled. For the last two weeks, I've been having a lot of dental work done including some oral surgery that I had on Monday. I still can't eat solid food (so making these candy bars was complete torture!) and my face is swollen and bruised, but I'm on my way to having a beautiful smile!

You can the find template to make the wrappers here. I used the template, but I made a few changes. To make the faces, I used some paper punches and the Cricut Cartridge Paper Doll Dress Up. The candy bar is attached with some snail adhesive, but I had to tied a ribbon around to hold the sides down. I added a simple stamped tag and I was done. These are easy enough for the kids to make.

Luggage Tag

Tomorrow is my Dad's birthday, and I'm always looking for fun and new ways to package his gifts. I found these little suitcases at a candy store near the movie theatre. So, of course, I bought some and thought I could "trick" them up! For Dad, I made a kind of vintage looking luggage tag.

It was pretty simple to make. The tag is cut using the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More Cricut Cartridge. Using some pop up dots, I adhered some fun vintage looking embellishments.

I finished this card yesterday, but didn't have time to post it before I left for work. It's a combination Labor Day Card and a 9/11 Commemorative Card. I cased it from this card I found blog surfing one night.

Instead of using an edge puncher, I used my Die-Namics Scallop Ribbon Border and cut one of the scallop edges off. Machine stitching was added on to the border strips before they were adhered to the card base. After I adhered the strips on, I machine stitched all around the the card base.

I cut a square of blue cardstock and machine stitched around the edges. Paper punched stars were added with matching ivory buttons glued to the centers.

I puffed up the scallop border a little, just to give it a little extra dimension.

My First Tilda Card

This is my first attempt using a Tilda stamp. I found this great card and decided to case it. I messed up coloring the hair bun and earrings, so I just decided to color/cover it up. I added a little Diamond Glaze to her sash, flower broach, and shoes for added dimension.

Tutorial for Pencil Box Inserts

Sue asked for the dimensions for the inserts for the pencil boxes. Sorry it took me so long!

The inserts are made using two pieces of cardstock. All measurements are done in inches.

The part that holds the little pencils is 5 1/4 x 4 3/4. Score along the 4 3/4 side at 1 1/4, 2, 2 3/4. Use a corner rounder on the edges so they fit in the nugget tin.

The other insert that holds all of the little supplies is cut 2 x 8 1/4. Score at 1 3/4, 2 1/2, 3 1/4, 5 ,5 3/4, 6 1/2 . Use a corner rounder on the top corners.

Just fold and insert into the nugget tin. I used adhesive on the valley folds to hold them together and then added a little adhesive into the nugget box to hold the inserts in the box.

Back To School Paper Pouch

Sorry it's been so long since my last post. I've been very busy! My brother and his girlfriend brought my niece, Katie, down for school. I'm so excited, now I have all of the nieces and nephews together! Then, Laura and I went to the pre-season Patriots vs. Buccaneers game! It was so awesome!

That's Mr. Tom Brady, the greatest quarterback in the world!

I worked a bunch of extra shifts at work, as I needed the game day off and my birthday! I turned 43 on Saturday and we had a great day. Mom, Laura, Jenny, and Joe came and we went to have enchiladas at a little Mexican restaurant that I like and then to Violette's, the greatest scrapbook store in the world. My family gave me some wonderful presents including a Red Sox Spring Training Windbreaker and my Mom and Chuck bought me a Gypsy! I can't believe it, it was way too much money! It is being shipped, so I am anxiously awaiting it's arrival. I've been wanting one for a very long time. I've been also working on my tutorial for the ScorPal book, but it's taking me longer than expected as I'm so nervous about making it perfect, that I'm making some mistakes.

For today's post/project, I made one of my paper lunch sack pouches. This is a bigger sack than the lunch sack. But, I made it the exact same way. You can find the instructions on this post. My sister, Laura, is mentoring a brand new teacher this year, so I'm excited to make some fun teacher themed things for her. I made her this paper pouch with some supplies for the upcoming school year.

I used some October Afternoon Schoolhouse Paper for the front panel. You probably can't see it, but I machine stitched around the panel. The apple is cut from the Cricut Cartridge, Plantin Schoolbook. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Teacher's Apple set. The edges on everything are inked with Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink.

I made two more back to school pencil boxes for my nieces, Kate and Jenny.

Kate is attending UCF this year and we have been anxiously awaiting her arrival to Florida. So, I thought a Florida themed pencil box would be appropriate.

Jenny loves all things horses, so I found these great horse sticker embellishments by Jolee's that would be perfect.

I made the inserts for the school supplies the same way as the boys' pencil boxes. Small mechanical pencils, paper clips, erasers and matching nuggets fill each pencil box.

Birthday Wishes

My Mom was over last week and she needed a birthday card for Jenny. While we were going through my stash, I realized that I hardly have any birthday cards. Since MY birthday is only 10 short days away, I thought I would make up some birthday cards.

It was a pretty simple card to make. I love this paper from Crate Paper and I thought it would compliment this digital stamp from LORI designs, Lollipop Ella. I made a simple square card and inked the edges with some brown ink. The borders on the panels were all stitched with the sewing machine. The sentiment is from the 2009 Papertrey Ink Anniversary Set. A little ribbon and some pearls finished off this card.

Back To School Pencil Boxes

I made a few pencil boxes for my nephews. Even though they are teenagers, Dave is 19 and Joe is 16, I still thought they needed some extra school supplies "Aunt Bunny Style"!

Using nuggets tins from Papertrey Ink and my handy dandy ScorPal, I made dividers to hold the goodies inside. To personalize the pencil boxes, I chose the Private Message stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie for Davey as he is an Army ROTC at UCF. His name was cut out using the Cuttlebug Red Tag Sale alphabet.

Joe, in addition to be a robotics expert (yet, he called me a nerd as I studied geology and geography in college!), is going to be next Jimi Hendrix (at least in my eyes!). I used some Reminisce letter stickers to spell is name and then stamped "You Rock!" using the stamp from A Muse. The guitar is a Jolee's Boutique Dimensional Sticker.

Here are pictures of the inside of the pencil boxes. I added a few nuggets, wrapped matching paper, for a sweet treat while they are studying.

The sentiment on the nuggets is "We love our troops! from Clear Dollar Stamps Patriotic Nuggets.

Here is quick card I made using Papertrey Ink's Blooming Button Bits stamp set. I double stamped the leaves and attached them with pop up dots for a little dimension. I used the Beautiful Blooms II #1 Die Collection to cut the flower. The butterflies were cut using a Martha Stewart punch and the butterfly die from My Favorite Things. To finish off the embellishing, I added a machine stitch around the front panel, tied a piece of lace around the card, applied some liquid pearls and a few buttons. Presto!, it's done!

Toilet Paper Apple

Did you ever make one of those pumpkins with the rolls of toilet paper that where so popular a few years ago? I made one for my Dad, the retired engineer, who knew immediately that it was a roll of toilet paper! I've been having trouble sleeping lately and late one night, it came to me....how about using the same concept to make an apple for the teacher?!

So, this is what I came up with. I cut a 22 inch square of red fabric, placed a roll of toilet paper in the middle, and carefully tucked the ends in the tube. I made a stem out of kraft cardstock that I run through crimper and inked with brown ink. The leaf is cut out of this fluffy green wool felt I found at Michaels.

The tag is made using Nestabilities and the Teacher's Apple set by Papertrey Ink. I added a few buttons, ribbon, and some tiny clothespins. I think that it would look great on any teacher's desk!

Top view, the core just sits in the top, just in case you need an emergency roll!

Teachers Are A Cut Above The Rest!

Here is a cute idea for a back to school surprise for your favorite teacher. These decoupaged scissors were pretty simple and inexpensive to make. I found the tutorial on Crap I've Made. I made just a few adjustments to the tutorial as I didn't have any E6000 or Dimensional Modge Podge. I found that Diamond Glaze worked just fine.

Everyday Card Set....Take 2!

I decided that I didn't like the box that I made for the Everyday Card Set in this post. So, I used one of my favorite My Timeless Templates, From The Desk Of..., to make a new box. This set comes with four mini file folders that I made with my Coluzzle and some RSVP pens that I altered with the matching designer paper from the cards.

I decided to add a sweet treat to this set. I had a couple of mint tins left over and some nuggets (which I always have on hand!), so I just wrapped them in the matching paper and adhered a paper punched flower to the top.

I tied a ribbon around them, to hold them together, finished with a bow, and added a button flower. I figure when the candy is gone, the recipient of this gift can re-use the tins for paper clips or stamps.

Pop Up Gift Card Holder

This was my first attempt in making a pop up card. My sister, Laura, made one last week when she was over, and it came out wicked cute. So, I decided to make one, too. The directions can be found at Paper Crafts Connections.

I made this for one of the girls at work. Starbucks had these "summery" looking gift cards, and since we live in Florida, I thought it would be the perfect gift.

Here is a close up of the fishtail pennant. I used the candle stump stamp by Stamps By Judith. Diamond Glaze was added to the little circles to give them a little more dimension. The coffee cups were cut using the Quickutz Coffee Cup Die. The sun was made using paper punches and the sentiment is from the It's Your Birthday! stamp from Dandelion Designs.

Here is a side view of the pop up gift card holder. I used some small brads to hold the sides together. I originally just used some Scor-Tape, but the side kept popping open, but the brad held the sides together perfectly.

Another Gift Set with JustRite!

Here is another gift set that I made to keep on hand for those last minute gifts. I was inspired by one of my guests, where I work, who is a wonderful seamstress. She told me about this great on-line store that carries all sorts of sewing supplies and even some scrapbook stuff. It is called Joggles. com. Make sure you check them out, they have some great stuff and the prices are affordable. They even have 100% wool felt, which is what I'm looking for.

Contents of this gift bag include this fun spool shaped card. I used Liquid Pearls on the pin heads. That stuff is AWESOME! The flower on the pin cushion is double stamped, colored with Copics and then popped up for added dimension. I "antiqued" the edges of all of the different papers with a sponge dauber and some brown ink.

I made up a note pad using small legal pad.

I seem to be having problems with my mojo lately. I spent four hours last night trying to make a cupcake shaped box. All I got was a trash can full of crumpled up cardstock!

I did manage to make this card, it did take me longer than usual though! Laura and I went to Violettes and I picked up this super cute My Favorite Things Enjoy Every Moment set. The flowers were made using paper punches and some vintage looking buttons. The scalloped border strip was cut using the scallop Die-Namics die.

Diana Crick, Inventor of the Scor-Pal, contacted me about putting my Father's Day Backpack in one of her Scor-Pal books! I am just so excited!! I sent the original one to my Dad, so I had to make up a tutorial. I tweaked it a little bit to make it easier to put together. During this process, I made a few more to try out my results.

I sometimes have trouble thinking up projects for boys. So, I thought that a safari themed backpack would be a great way to package some party favors or a small gift for a young man. The lion punch art was cased from Angie Kennedy Juda.

Target already has school supplies out. So, in preparation for the first day of school I made this teacher backpack for my favorite teacher. It would also make a great first day gift for a student. Here are the side/back views as well.

Last but not least, I decided to make a pretty one that would be perfect to give to for a birthday, thank you, or any occasion.

It's A Fancy Nancy Birthday Party!

Bonjour! (that's fancy for hello!)

I am helping a friend make some goodies for her daughter's birthday party. The theme is Fancy Nancy! Here are some of the ideas I made for party favors for all of the little fancy ladies that will be attending this fancy gala!

There is a little purse that was made using one of Lauren Meader's My Timeless Templates. The template is called "Purse-onality Clutch" and it can be downloaded/purchased at Papertrey Ink. A water bottle holder with a drink mix packet decorated with fancy doilies provides a fun and easy way to provide beverages. What little girl wouldn't love this tiny decorated tissue box for their bedroom?

I also made a cupcake topper with flowers and butterflies, some of Fancy Nancy's favorite things! I will personalize the back of the cupcake topper with the little girl's name.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day! This is one of my favorite holidays. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day of cookouts and family fun. I am looking forward to the fireworks tonight. I rearranged my crafty space in my bedroom, so I can see the fireworks at Tigertown tonight. I've been doing a lot of moaning and groaning today. I must of worked like 100 hours this weekend and every part of my body hurts!

Uncle Sam On A Stick!

Here some party favors for your 4th of July picnic parties! Using a variety of paper punches and Nestabilities, I created this Uncle Sam. He is a larger version of this project I made last year. I used the Inky Antics Triangle Treat Box stamp, I made the small triangle box. Then, I adhered a bamboo skewer inside the box. The box was filled with Fire Ball candies, and tied closed with ribbon. Uncle Sam was attached to the front of the triangle box with some foam tape. To complete the project, I tied a big bow on the stick. Easy peasy!

Thank You Party Favors

On Monday, I will be teaching the women in my Mom's knitting group how to make tissue boxes. I am very excited. They will be coming to my Mom's house, so I decided to make some little favors to give them.

The bee was made from a variety of paper punches. I really wanted to make the Busy Bee from Kim Score's tutorial, In The Garden. You can find it here. But, I don't have one of the punches in the tutorial, and I didn't know how to substitute it, bummer! So, I tried to make my own little bee. I cut the flower out with the Plantin Cricut Cartridge. The center is one of the sentiments from the Papertrey Ink's Tag It's #1. The flower is adhered to a lollipop. I punched holes in the tag and tied green ribbon (from the back) to hold the stick onto the tag. The bee was attached with a pop up dot. I made 14 of these little tags.

Always In Style!

This is a card made using one of my favorite Stampin' Up sets, Pattern of Friendship. I paper pieced the ladies dresses and colored them with Copics. The rosette was made using The Cat's Pajamas Easy Rosette die. The layers of the card are sandwiched with foam tape. Sheer white polka dotted ribbon was tied around the top of the front of the card with two heart stick pins. The scallop border along the top edge of the card was made using the Sizzix Large Scallop die and the small scallop border was made using the My Favorite Things Die-Namics scalllop.

Bitten By The Bug 2 Challenge: Freshly Picked Gnomes

I decided to incorporate the Father's Day gift for my stepfather, Chuck, with the BBTB2 Challenge. This is my first time participating in one of their challenges.

Chuck likes garden gnomes, for Christmas I bought him a Boston Red Sox gnome! I cut the gnome 3 at 8 inches and cut each layer twice. The layers are sandwiched with foam tape. I did cheat a little, as I don't have Design Studio software and only a small piece of the gold paper, I used the smallest square Nestability to make his belt buckle. I ran the gnome's beard through my BIGkick with the Cuttlebug Swirls Embossing Folder. A few red pearls were added for added dimension.

For the gift bag, I adhered some "masculine" designer paper, some jute twine and few wooden buttons. Using some Scrabble tiles, I spelled out Chuck's name. For the card/gift card holder, I added a small pocket on the inside. You could put some cash or a gift card inside.

Another Father's Day Card

Here is another card I made for Dad. When Dad was in high school, he had a red convertible, so that was the inspiration for this card. I cut the car with my Cricut using the Nifty Fifties Cartridge. After the car was assembled with foam tape, I applied Diamond Glaze to make the car shiny. The pennant banner was made using the My Favorite Things Fishtail Banner Die-Namics.

I love this card that Mona Pendelton made. I decided to case it again to make a Father's Day card for Dad. I really wanted to buy the set of Blossom 3 Nestabilities, but I had the Peony set, and I think it worked just fine. The peony is my base, then I cut a circle, made the rosette using The Cat's Pajamas East Rosette die, and finished it off with the Making Memories Bravissimo! sentiment. The streamers were cut free hand.

Father's Day Backpack

I've been trying to find the perfect tutorial for making the paper backpack. After many hours surfing the internet and several trial runs, I have combined about a zillion different sets of instructions and made one. This is for my Dad and it is filled with miniature Snickers Bars. Dad enjoys camping, so I had this little camping designer paper in my stash by Debbie Mumm called Travel. The base of the backpack is made with kraft paper that I stamped with Versamark Ink and the dot border from Papertrey Ink's 2009 anniversary set, Round & Round. The frame for the front was cut using Nestabilities and a clear piece of acetate was adhered in the inside of backpack. For some camping themed embellishments, I just cut out a tent and a campfire (from the designer paper) and popped them up with pop up dots. The "arm" straps were made using the same kraft paper, but I added a little bit of ribbon to keep it more stable, but the straps still bent a little bit. The flap is held down with some velcro.

Father's Day Side Step Card

This is my first attempt at making a side step card. I used the tutorial at Splitcoast. You can view it here.

I made this card for my Dad for Father's Day. Dad has a model railroad that he was working on for as long as I can remember. His railroad is Carson City, Nevada during the gold rush.

Wyatt was stamped, colored with Copics and a Bic Marker, cut and adhered with pop up dots. To make the train tracks, I just used the Martha Stewart fence border punch. I punched out the border on a strip of cardstock, and then trimmed the points off the fence. Presto! It's a train track! The train was made using a Quickutz 2 x 2 die. I only had the engine die, so I cut the "hood" of the engine off to make the middle car and the caboose. I stamped the sentiment onto the designer paper and then added a punched heart with a pop up dote. To finish my card off, I adhered two Karen Foster Nevada STATE-ment embellishments

Teacher Fries

These fries are guaranteed fat, calorie, carbohydrate, and sugar free! They are perfect for any diet!

The fry box is from Quickutz/Lifestyle Crafts. I was able to cut it with my BIGKick without any special platform. It's a smaller fry box, measuring approximately 2 1/2 inches x 4 inches x 1 1/4 inches. First, for the french fries, I tried to sharpen down some pencils to fit in the box, but it was taking forever, so I ended up buying some small mechanical pencils. They fit perfectly. I put a small piece of floral foam in the bottom of the box, and then arranged my fries. Paper shred was added to cover up the foam and fill the box out a little bit. I wrapped a piece of yellow ribbon around the box. A simple tag was made using Lizzie Anne Designs School Days stamp set and an apple brad.

Paper Pouches with Button Card Tags

My work schedule is all messed up this week! I usually work the same shifts, on the same day, every week. But, this week it's a little different, so I don't know when I'm coming and going!

I wanted to do something a little different with the button cards. While I was up late one night surfing the net, I came across these cute variations of paper lunch sacks. Many of you know how much I enjoy using lunch sacks, so these were a great addition to my collection. Unfortunately, I don't remember where I got the idea from, so I'm sorry that I can't give her the credit!

They are super easy to make. Just sew across the bottom of the bag just above the bottom of the bag. I drew a line on the bag with a marker for illustration only. I don't recommend that you do this on the finished product as it will show through the thread once it is stitched. Then, trim just below the stitched line and the top of the bag to give it the decorative edge. Easy....you are done!

What is nice about these little bags is that they are gusseted on the sides, so you can put some "thick" stuff in them. Mine have a few Hershey Kisses inside, but the possibilities are endless. You can use them for packaging gift cards, a small stamp set, ink pads, or just about anything.

Using the button cards I made, I then started building the tag. The button tag was mounted on a piece of coordinating paper. I cut a doily in half, and then adhered the sides to the bag of the paper. The doily was just a little too small, so by cutting it, I made it just a little bigger. The tag was attached to the bag using a tiny clothespin that had matching paper Modge Podged and a matching button flower.

I had a couple of Cricut Preserves Apples left over, so I decided to make use them for some last minute teacher appreciation gift. Using the Papertrey Ink Teacher's Apple set, I stamped the sentiment directly onto the bag. Some ribbon and regular sized tea dyed clothespin completed my project. It wasn't till after I finished , I realized that I should have stamped the "s" next to teacher. But, I think I looked at it too many times, because now neither one looks right! It's ok, my sister will appreciate it anyway, even if it's not grammatically correct!

Graduation Gifts

My niece, Kate, graduated from high school last week in Maine. She will be attending the University of Central Florida this fall and we are so psyched to have her down here with us! Here is a picture of the lovely Kate and her Dad, my brother, Richard.

To celebrate her special day, I made a card and nugget tin for my Mom to package her present. I found this great card to case. This beauty was found Julie B's Stamping Space. You can see her card here. I just made a few changes. Granny likes to give checks as presents, so I whipped up this nugget tin to hold the check. In the tin are six little mortar board nuggets!

For my gift, I chose to use the digital stamp, Graduating Audrey from Stamping Boutique. She is double stamped, colored with Copics, and popped up with pop up dots. She is mounted on a little frame made will Nestabilities, a corner rounder, and some rhinestones. The acrylic box is filled with two bags of Hershey Kisses and a special surprise to help her decorate her new dorm room. Wide blue ribbon was wrapped around and tied with a bow to hold the top and bottom together. Using the Justrite Favorite Occasions and Times Roman Alphabet, I made the little medallion for the top personalize with both of your names.

Father's Day Tie Card

I saw this cute card on Flowerbug's blog and decided to make one for my Dad. You can see her card here. She has complete instructions with pictures on her blog. I only made a few changes. I used my Scor-pal to make a pinstriped tie instead of an embossing folder. To make the knot on the tie pop up a little, I added a small strip of pop up tape underneath.

Birthday Medallion Gift Bag

I saw this great gift bag at Mona Pendelton's blog, Cupcake Creations. You can see it here.

I've been admiring the medallions in Michaels and really wanted to make one. I bought the cork board flowers at Michaels in the clearance section. This was used as the base. Then, I cut a long strip of paper 12 inches by 1 3/4 inches. On one side, I punched the border. Along the short side of the strip, I scored every 1/4 inch, then folded it accordion style. Bring both ends together and use sticky strip, or something strong like that, and attach. I adhered that to the cork board base. Using Nestabilities, half pearls, ribbon streamers, and a stamp from Dandelion Designs, I completed my medallion.

Big Bucket of Teacher Treats!

I've going through a crafting withdrawal! Two of my co-workers were off this weekend, so I had to work a bunch of extra shifts, including three doubles. I usually craft before I go into work, but there wasn't any time. If I wasn't mixing drinks, I was sleeping!

Today, Laura came and we went to Violette's. Yay! If you ever in the Central Florida area, you definitely need to check the store out. They also do mail order. You check them out here. We both got some goodies and I'm anxious to use them up.

Here is another Teacher Appreciation gift I made for my favorite teacher. I bought one of those ginormous containers of cheese balls at Target. After the cheese balls were gone, I didn't have to heart to throw it away. As my Mom would say, I "tricked" it up! First, I filled it up with the teacher's favorite treats: circus peanuts, Twizzlers, little cans of Diet Coke, Chex mix, and some cookies. Then, I made a belly band using chalkboard paper. Using the Preserves and Doodlecharms Cricut Cartridges, I cut out some apples and school buses and adhered them on with pop up dots. I added a paper punched border and some ribbon to finish it off. I wrote her name on the front, and my name on the back. Inside the jar is a piece of chalk, just in case she wanted to write on the chalkboard.

This is a great gift ideal for a teacher who can also share it with her/his family. Mrs. Lindsay-Zahn does a ton of extra stuff for her students that often takes time away from her family. This would include taking her students on a bus trip to Washington D.C., sewing 36 dresses (yes, 36 dresses!) for the high schools production of Hair Spray, Grad Night at Universal Studios, not to mention all of her own money on spent on school supplies like copy paper for their handouts and exams. With four teenagers and her husband, they will enjoy this treat!

Papertrey Ink Flower Blog Hop

Today is the day for the May Blog Hop at Papertrey Ink. The challenge was to use flowers.

I decided to to make another post it note holder with an acrylic frame. The frame size is 4 inches x 6 inches. Utilizing two Papertrey Ink stamp sets, Flower Fusion #1 and Fillable Frames #5, I created my header.

First, I cut the frame out using the Fillable Frames #5 die. The border and sentiment was stamped on with Cottage Ivy Memento Ink and Versafine Black Ink. Then, I cut out the flowers with the Flower Fusion #1 die and then stamped on them with Versamark Ink. For the leaves, I stamped the stems with Cottage Ivy Memento Ink and then cut out just the leaves. Since I love using buttons as the centers for flowers, I threaded them with some white DMC floss and glued them on to the flowers. I hand cut the banner behind the header and attached it to the frame using pop up dots. The base paper is from American Crafts. A post it note was adhered to the frame. I quickly altered a RSVP pen and tied a pretty shear polka dotted bow to complete my gift.

Wishing You A Beautiful Butterfly Day Card

This is a quick card I made that I cased from Michelle Wooderson. She does the most beautiful cards.

I used one of my favorite sets from My Favorite Things, Framed Greetings, for my sentiment. It was a really simple card to make. I used my Die-Namics scalloped border that my Mom bought me for Mother's Day and the butterfly set that Oscar and Tedy bought me for Mother's Day. The little doily is from Martha Stewart. I just added a few rhinestones and button to complete the butterflies. I made a bag/envelope with a tiny clothespin with a complimentary butterfly to match. The edge of the bag was punched with the Fiskars border punch.

Teacher Post It Note Set

I wanted to make a teacher appreciation gift that my favorite teacher could use at home. So, I chose this pretty blue paper from Jillibean Soup, which just happens to be her favorite color.

The base is a 5 x 7 acrylic frame. I inserted a piece of the designer paper in the frame. I bought the butterfly cork board at Michaels, they came in a package of 8. I layered three of them together as they were little thin. Using sticky strip, I adhered a post it note pad to the frame.

Using my two of my favorite stamp companies, Papertrey Ink and My Favorite Things, I got to work. My Favorite Things Die-namics were used to cut the butterflies and the scalloped strip behind the sentiment. I used the Papertrey Ink set, Teacher's Apple to stamp the sentiment on a the Mat Stack #1 die cut. Some paper punched flowers and flowers completed the header. I altered a few thumb tacks by gluing one some more paper punched flowers and a tiny butterfly. To finish the project off, I altered a RSVP pen with some more paper and a butterfly. Seam binding was wrapped around and tied into a pretty bow.

Woody Clipboard and Tissue Box Set

I made this set for my niece, Sam, who was diagnosed with leukemia last month. She loves Woody from Toy Story, so I decided that I needed the Toy Story Cricut Cartridge to make some goodies for her room. She has been going through chemotherapy and has been very brave. My sister and brother in law took her to the Girl Scout Banquet as she was to get a very big award for her service at the Winnie Palmer Hospital, but she was so sick, that they had to leave before she could get her award. I know this will not make up for the prestige of the Girl Scout award, but, hopefully this will make her smile.

In Papercrafts 350 Cards & Gifts, Kim Kesti made this adorable clipboard with a Scrabble tray and letter tiles. I wanted to make these, and since I had some clipboards already, I got to work. Designer paper was Modge Podged on to the clipboard. I added some carnival tickets as a border, then applied some stars that I had cut out with Stand and Salute Cricut cartridge. I glued the letter tray on and tied some ribbons on the "clippy" part of the clipboard.

Now onto Woody. He is 10 3/4 inches tall. I cut each layer twice and I layered them with pop up tape to give him some dimension. The Woody on the tissue box was cut at 3 1/2 inches tall, cut and assembled the same way.

I made the tissue box cover using the tutorial provided by Splitcoast. I made a belly band out of cardstock, wrapped bakers twine around, and centered some stars with button centers on each side.

Teacher Candy Box

I saw these great teacher appreciation gifts from Deck the Halls of Home with Joy while I was blog surfing one night. Then, I came across these great cards at Kards by Kadie and decided to combine them into one gift.

The box is an embroidery floss organizer box that I bought at Jo Ann Fabrics. They are inexpensive and you can find them at Michaels and Walmart as well. I filled it with my favorite teacher's favorite candies. I know it looks like a lot of candy, but my favorite teacher has a husband and four teenagers living at her house, so it probably won't last very long! You can put school supplies in it, but since it's going to be and end of the year gift, I decided to just put treats in it.

The pencil was really easy to make. I used my Scor-Pal to make the ridges in the pencil.

From The Desk Of ...Hello Kitty

In the dollar sections of Michaels and Target, they have all of this cool Hello Kitty stuff. I decided to make some more desk sets using these goodies. The template comes from one of Lauren Meader's, My Timeless Templates. It is called "From The Desk Of". It can be purchased/download from Papertrey Ink.

The Hello Kitty head was made using the original Sizzix Hellow Kitty Face with Bow die. I cut it out twice and sandwiched pop up dots between the two layers.

Each desk set comes with four mini file folders,(that I cut with my Coluzzle), seven Hello Kitty pencils, a Hello Kitty eraser set, and a pink mini compartment box. The mini compartment box has a variety of paper clips, Hello Kitty stickers, tacks, a pink plastic mini clothespins.

Poor Oscar, I had to take him to the vet this morning. His mouth was open, sticking his tongue out, and he was drooling. Then he would start to gag. The maintenance man at my apartment drove us to the vet. The doctor said he had a bad tooth and it needed to be extracted. The doctor would do it today and he said he would call me as soon as it was done. As promised, Dr. Raymond call me an hour later and told me he had to extract 3 teeth! He said Oscar was doing fine and he could come home later in the afternoon. I was so proud of myself, I didn't cry. I always get so upset when the kitties are sick. My Mom and Chuck came and we went out for lunch and then to Violette's, the greatest scrapbook/rubber stamp store. My Mom bought me a scallop My Favorite Things Dienamic as my gift for Mother's Day. The last few years, she has been buying me a gift for Mother's Day. I can't have children, so it can be a little sad for me this time of the year. But, I'm so excited, I've been wanting this particular die for a wicked long time! My Mom really like all of the cards I made her and her gift card to buy books for her Kindle. Oscar is now home, he is a little lethargic and I'm $300.00 poorer, but he is worth every penny!

Mother's Day Nugget Tin

Here is a quick nugget tin that I made for my Mom. I used the My Favorite Things Dienamics Roses Set. It was the first time I used it, and they are really quite easy to make. I didn't waste any paper making these! The leaves were punched out twice using a Martha Stewart punch and I sandwiched a pop up dots in between to give them a little more dimension. The glitter chipboard letters were adhered onto a Martha Stewart tag.

The nuggets were covered with the matching paper from the belly band. The paper is from Lily Bee Designs as part of the May VIP package from My Favorite Things. I added a few pearl embellished Martha Stewart paper punched butterflies to the
nuggets.

Here a few pictures of how I made the parchment paper pockets I made in this post. Unfortunately, the pictures I took didn't come out very well, so I substituted the parchment paper for a paper sack. They came out much clearer and came out just as well.

Cut the parchment paper 3 1/2 inches by 22 inches. Fold it in half.

Fold the bottom up about 3 inches to make pocket.

Sew along the long edges. This will complete the paper pocket. It will have the small pocket in the front and the large one in the back. Easy peasy mac and cheesy!

Now, if you like the paper bag version. I just used a small paper bag. I cut the bag in half, you will be able to make two pouches out of one bag.

Then down the side seam of the bag to make your strip.
