Pencil Notepads

Here are some notepads that I made for my sister and her teacher friends to welcome them back to school.  To makes these note pads, I took the small legal pads that I bought at Staples (they cut them in half for you to make the narrow pad) and then cut the bottom of the pads down to 5 1/2 inches.  I have the guillotine style paper cutter, so it was easy to cut them down.  I just cut a little at a time and it cut perfectly.

Using my Scor-Pal, I made the folder to hold the notepad.  Using a separate piece of yellow cardstock, I scored some lines to make the "ridges" on the pencil.  The eraser, silver band, and the wood piece was just paper pieced on to the pencil.  To make the "lead" I just used a black marker.

This is the inside shot of the notepad.  I added a little paper to cover up the top of the notepad.  It is adhered with some Scor-Tape.

I made a medallion  for the front.  The sentiment is computer generated and accented with an apple brad.  Baker's twine was wrapped around the notepad, to hold it closed, and then I tied the medallion on.

Supplies:
Paper:  Bazzill, October Afternoon, Recollections
Misc:  Scor-Pal, Scor-Tape, baker's twine, apple brad, paper punches, notepad, corner rounder

Thanks for stopping by,
