I've been a serious slump lately. It feels like that everything I make comes out horrible and it seems like I'm throwing more cards in the trash then adding to my stash!
I decided to crochet a baby afghan for a girl at work that is having her first baby, it's going to be a boy. I wanted to add a little something extra to the gift. So, I designed a set of four cards to add to the package. I thought that these would be nice for her to send to the grandparents with a picture of the baby enclosed.
For the afghan, I crocheted a large rectangle granny square using 100% cotton yarn. The cards, I cut out using a craft knife. The cuffs of the pants and shirt are adhered using pop up dots. The pocket is actually the center piece of the overalls that I just trimmed down a bit. Then, I used a gel pen to add a little faux stitching to the pocket. The pocket is also adhered with pop up dots.
Using my Cricut, I cut out the little frog body, but used paper punches and Stickles for his eyes. His eyes are also adhered with pop up dots.
Inside, I stamped a sentiment. Then added a few buttons to the overalls.
Close up view of the frog.
