Some Bunny Loves You Test Tube Cards With Two Tutorials

Warning:  This is a super long post with two tutorials and photograph heavy.  Grab your favorite beverage and get comfy!!!

I found this card on Nancy's blog, Artful Notions, and fell immediately in love.  While I love Papertrey Ink, it was this particular card that "forced" me to buy the Polka Dot Parade #1 set and the Polka Dot Parade #1 die set.  I must admit, I have little will power, and with stamp set that only costs $5.00 and die set only costs $3.00, how can you go wrong?!

So, I decided to use Nancy's card and some test tubes I had in my stash.  These particular test tubes are flat on the bottom and have a silver screw on top.  This is what I came up with:

Now, I generally like all of the stuff I make, but there is something about these that I really love.

Here is a quick tutorial to make the actual card.

Cut a piece of cardstock 8 1/2 inches by 5 1/2 inches.  Using a Scor-Pal, score at 3 1/2 inches, 4 1/4 inches and 5 inches.

Fold the card in half at the 4 1/4 inches.

On the folded edge, score at 3/4 inches, 1 1/2 inches, 4 inches, and 4 3/4 inches.

Cut out the center between the score lines all the way to the main score at 5 inches.

When you open the card up, it should look like this:

The test tube will just slide in the card.

I don't have a basket die, so I decided to improvise by using two oval Nestabilities dies.  I used the largest and next largest oval die, the tan embossing pad, and a scrap of paper.

First, cut a large oval out.

Now, put the large oval on the cutting platform on the die cutting machine.  Lay the embossing mat about half way down on the oval.  Then, layer the smaller oval die on top.

Run the oval through the machine.  It will stop when it hits the embossing mat.  Back it up and this is what you will get:

If just flipped it over and folded the part of the small oval that cut back and adhered it to the back of the basket.

Then, I just trimmed the bottom of the basket to give it a flat bottom.

You can decorate your card front and inside, fill it up with some jelly beans and viola you have a great Easter treat.  To make it even more special, you can just put a gift card in the inside pocket.  This was a great project to use up lots of little scraps of paper you may have saved for a rainy day.

Bunny Butt Sweet Treats

I saw these on Pinterest and just had to make them!  Super quick and super easy!  I didn't have the proper paper punches, so I just improvised with my Ciruct.

I made up some kits to make these little goodies.  In each kit you enough supplies to make 5 (five) Bunny Butt Sweet Treats.  The candy is not included.  All you need is the candy and some adhesive to put these little guys together.  They are listed in my Etsy Shop.

Punch Bunnies!

I used my Teddy Bear Valentines as my inspiration for this post.  Using a variety of paper punches and my Cricut, I whipped up these little bunnies.  I originally had some Dove Coconut Cream Eggs that I was going to use for this project, but I wanted to try one to make sure they tasted ok.   But, to be really sure, I ended up eating the whole bag!  So, I ended up buying some Reeses', and they work just fine, and taste super delicious!

We all know how bunnies multiply....

....and multiply....

I made up some kits with all of the pieces already cut out.  Each kit will make two bunnies.  You will just need adhesive, candy, pop up dots, white gel pen, sharpie pen, and a little color for the bunnies cheeks!  The Punch Bunny! Body Part Kits are listed in my Etsy shop, so make sure you "hop" on over.

I wanted to put my bunnies in a bag, so I used some Large Glassine Bags from my Etsy shop.  They are decorated with scraps of American Crafts designer paper, baker's twine, and a button.

Here they are, done and ready for the Easter Bunny.  They are perfect for tucking in basket, decorating your dinner table or just a special random act of kindness.

Nail Polish Bunnies

Here is quick little non - candy Easter surprise.  I made some spiders for Halloween and decided to make some bunnies for Easter.

I just used some paper punches and my Cricut to make their little faces.  A bow was added and eyes were made using a Black Sharpie.

I used Scor-Tape to adhere the face and the pom pom tail to the bottle.  While this tape is excellent at keeping paper adhered together, it easily peels off of the glass bottle so nail polish doesn't drip onto it.

Valentine's Day Button Tag Bags

Happy Valentine's Day!  I hope your day is filled with love and chocolate.  My day is filled with work, this being one of the two busiest days in the restaurant industry, but I saved myself some Cherry Cordial M & M's for when I get home tonight!

I've been doing quite a bit of sewing lately, and I just love making little bags.  It's a great way to use of little scraps of fabric and most of the time, they make up really fast.

Last month, the Senior Design Team at Papertrey Ink revisited Button Boutique.  This is one of my favorite PTI stamp sets.  I absolutely loved this one at Lilybean Paperie and decided to incorporate it with my new little bags.

I made two styles of bags.  The first one is simple drawstring muslin bag.  I like to stuff it with a lot of stuff and I wanted it to stand up on it's own, so I boxed the bottom corners.

The bags are 6 1/2 inches x 51/4 inches.  

Next up are these little tote bags, I call them my Tiny Totes.

These little guys measure 6 inches x 5 inches.  The bottoms of these bags also are boxed so that they stand up freely.

I Dig You

This is one of those things that didn't photograph well, I apologize, but they are way cuter in real life.  I saw these cute little shovels in Target and they were only 28 cents each, bonus bargain!!  They were a perfect match to the American Crafts Valentine paper pad that they had in the scrapbook aisle, another bonus for me!

So, I made these little tags and packaged up some candy for a special Valentine treat.

Teddy Bear Valentines

Hello!!!  How is everyone doing?  Where I have been and what have I been doing?!  I'm not quite sure, they say time flies when you are having fun...or not!!

As usual, I'm doing projects at the last minute.  Here are some paper punch Valentines that I made.

I used a variety of paper punches and my Cricut to make this little cutie.  Everything is better with a little chocolate, so I added this Nestle Crunch Heart to the center.

I needed a fun way to package him, so I used a glassine bag that I "tricked" up.  While I am a little behind on the trends, here is my first attempt at a confetti bag.  I just punched a million little hearts and added some fluffy glitter that I bought who knows when!  The doily heart was made using the Lifestyles/Quickutz 4x4 Die.

Here are my "naked" bears just waiting for their chocolate hearts!

Snowman Vitamin Water!

Just a little something to brighten up your favorite teacher's desk this holiday season.  I bought an eight pack of Lemonade Vitamin Water and these leg warmers from the Dollar Spot at Target and got to work.  Some paper punches, fabric scraps, baker's twine, pom poms, and viola...eight tiny snowman!

Hanukkah Catch Up!

 

Well, Hanukkah ends tomorrow night and I'm a little slow in getting my projects posted! 

 

These are some little pillow boxes that I made with the Sizzix Pillow Box Die.  The tags were punched out with both vellum and coordinating designer paper.  Then, I stamped the vellum tags with some Stazon Black Ink.  Tiny Stars of David were paper punched to complete the tag.  These little pillow boxes match my Wintery Hanukkah Cards posted below.
