I made a little gift basket for my sister.  This year she is teaching World History and Costuming.  The tag was made from using one of my new stamps that I picked up at the Scrapbook Expo.  I found the basket at the Dollar Tree and filled it with little goodies to help her day go a little smoother.

Supplies:

Halloween Tags

I had originally scheduled to share this post this morning, but I was in a rush to get to work as I didn't know how long I was going to be able to stay.  We are on high alert here in Florida waiting for Hurricane Matthew.  I did leave work early and started watching the news, but it was starting to scare me so much, that I couldn't watch it anymore.  We've had brief periods of rain and a little wind, and now the sun is shining.  The worst is supposed to come late tonight early tomorrow morning.  I just hope I don't loose power.

Now, onto something more fun!

I am having so much fun using my new Cricut Explore.  It's the coolest thing!  Today, I am showing some tags I made for my sister, cousin, and a few of their colleagues at their school.

I used the Cricut to cut out the skeleton, tombstone and the actual tag.  The grass and tab are both dies from My Favorite Things.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.  I paper punched the pumpkins and the bats.  To personalize each tag, I used my typewriter to print out their names.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink-Boo To You
Ink:  Versafine, Heidi Swapp, Momento
Paper:  Echo Park, Recollections, Bazzill
Misc:  Cricut, paper punches, baker's twine, pop up dots, typewriter

Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead!

I wanted to make some little Halloween treats that where a little different from the usual candy treats.  Don't get me wrong, I love candy, but I wanted to try something a little more unique.  Hostess products were buy one get one free at the grocery store so I figured that I should get them and give it a try.  Unfortunately, they don't make the Ding Dong packaging the same as when I was young.  I remember that they were wrapped in silver foil, but now they come in a white plastic package.  So, I opened it up and wrapped it in a piece of tin foil.

Then, using my Cricut, I cut out my witch's legs and hat.  The sentiment was computer generated and then paper punched out and mounted.  I also punched some little bats out of black glitter paper and added them on for a little extra "scary".

Supplies:
Paper:  Bazzill, Recollections
Misc:  Computer, Cricut, Create a Friend and Create a Critter 2 Cricut Cartridges, paper punches, pop up dots, Ding Dongs, tin foil

Cotton Tail Tags

Just some pretty tags to add a little cheer to your holiday!  These tags would be great to add to your Easter baskets, edible gifts, or even used as a card topper.  This also a great project to use up scraps of paper.

I used my Cricut to cut both tags (top and bottom).  Then, I die cut the rabbit out of the top tag and adhered another piece of coordinating paper to the back.  Stamp a sentiment, add a pom pom tail, and finish it off with some baker's twine and viola...you are done!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink-Polka Dot Parade #1
Ink:  Versafine
Paper:  American Crafts
Misc:  Cricut Pretty Pennants and Plantin School Book Cartridges,  Papertrey Ink Polka Dot Basics Bunny Die,  pom poms, baker's twine

Ding Dong Valentines

I love Valentines Day, I think because I love candy!  Not only do I love candy, but I love chocolate, and that is a totally different food group.

Here is a cute, quick, inexpensive, and unique treat for all of your favorite Valentines.  The sentiment is computer generated.  Then, I stamped the "frame" from the Papertrey Ink Tag Its #1.  I punched that sucker out, backed it with a scallop Nestabilitities, and a few paper punched hearts added a finishing touch.

I bought the Ding Dongs at Target, and so far I've eaten four of them!  Oh well, I will have to buy another box before Valentine's Day.  I'ts a sacrifice I am willing to make to keep the economy going!!

Stamps:  Papertrey Ink:  Tag Its #1
Ink:  Papertrey Ink

Warm Birthday Wishes Tag

What the heck happened to Thanksgiving?!  I can't believe that I haven't posted in almost 2 months, really?!  I've been crafting/creating my life out, too.  I wish I had pictures to show, but, of course, I was so pressed for time that I didn't take any.  We won't mention that my blog got hacked, and it wouldn't let me access to it unless I purchased a domain for it?!  Thanks to two nice gentlemen from Google, I was able to fix it and not have to pay anything.

Let's see, I've worked Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.  For all of our great team members that worked that those days, I made small gifts to show how grateful we were that they came to to work on those days.  So, that would be anywhere from  45-60 people at our venue, multiply that times 4 holidays and that equals way too many to count.  I also did a small craft fair in early December.  The holidays are some of the busiest days for our us here in the tourist area of Central Florida.  Basically, I would get up early craft, go to work, come home, craft, go to bed and just repeat every day......  (Did I mention that I ride my bike to work every day and it's 6 miles each way?)

Additionally, I did some holiday baking.  I sent boxes of homemade treats to my Dad and Brother up in Massachusetts.  I did make some pretty neat tags with my Cricut for the goodies, and even kept an extra one that I will be posting.

Today, I made a tag for my Mom.  Her birthday is coming up, and she has been reminding us of it!  In our family, we are very proud of our ages and make no effort to hide them.  We love our birthdays!

Of course, I used two of my favorite companies, My Favorite Things and Papertrey Ink.  This tag was perfect to compliment a pretty bottle of hand soap from Bath and Body Works.  I just love that store and could spend lots of $$$ that I don't have in there!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink-In The Meadow, My Favorite Things-Ice Princess
Paper:  MME, Neenah, Recollections
Ink:  Versafine, Memento
Misc:  Ribbon, sewing machine, pop up dots, rhinestones, Scallop Border Die-Namics, Papertrey Ink Snowflake Die from Winter Penguin Additions, Copics

I Only Have Eyes For You

I love Halloween, I love Halloween candy, and I love making Halloween candy crafts!  I made these I Only Have Eyes For You tags to match with those scary chocolate eyeballs I found at Target.

The sentiment is computer generated.  I used Nestabilities to make the tag layers and some paper punched eyeballs provide a little extra scare!  I also added some washi tape flags and baker's twine from the Halloween Mini Embellishment Kit to dress up my tag a little. This is one of those projects that started out as a clean and simple tag, but I kept thinking "Oh, this would look cute, I think I will add this!".

I put the eyeballs in a mini paint can.  On the top of the can, I adhered a circle of matching paper and some of the tiny button spiders that are also from the Halloween Mini Embellishment Kit.  I tied a tulle bow on the handle and decided that was it, it was finished!

Trick or Treat!!!

I saw these wicked cute little Halloween Tags on Pinterest.  They were made by Jen Del Muro for the Reverse Confetti Blog.

I decided to make some of my own, using supplies from my stash.  I am trying really, really, really hard not buy anything new!

So, here's my version....

Using a variety of paper punches, Nestabilities, and some dies, I made both a spider and a Frankenstein.

I covered some Hershey's Miniatures with some spooky paper and tucked them in the little bags.   For some reason, I can never make just one of anything!

My First Mini Album

So, I got to make something really cool.  A teacher friend of my sister's, whose son is also in the Army, wanted me to make a special birthday gift for her boy.  It seems that young Hero will be turning 21 and he is currently deployed in Iraq.  His Mom wanted something special for this special birthday since he will be so far away from home.  Well, I was quite honored to be a part of this gift.  She wanted some type of mini album that she could send some special pictures and sweet words all in one place.  I have never really "scrapbooked" before, since I mostly make cards and stuff, so I was up for the challenge.  I decided to make a tag style mini album that would be easy to ship and easy for him to carry with him as he is protecting our freedom.

I decided to use my favorite color combination:  Red, White, and Blue!

There are five tags/pockets and they measure approximately 8 inches by 5 inches.  I decided to make the pockets a little extra roomy so she can put 4 inch by 6 inch photos in each one.

I wanted to use this quote from Will Rogers, it's one of my favorite stamps:

When, I finished this, it got me thinking, what a great thing to give someone special who is far from home.  So, I decided to make up some blank tag books, which started a chain reaction, and I ended up making some little journal books with my Bind-It-All!  While I was making these, another teacher friend of my sister's, whose son will be graduating from Basic Training soon, also wanted one as a graduation present!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Verses-Will Rogers quote, My Favorite Things-Big Greetings
Paper:  October Afternoon, Recollections, Bazzill
Ink:  Versafine
Misc:  Cricut, Bags, Tags & More Cartridge, buttons, paper punches, Stars Die-Namics, star brads, Nestabilities, book ring, Papertrey Ink Alphabet Die

Party Like A Patriot!

It's back to school time here in Florida.  Here is quick gift I made for my favorite teacher.  I found this cup on the clearance rack at Kirkmans.  I thought this would be perfect as my favorite teacher not only teaches history, but like me is a huge New England Patriots fan.

I cut an apple using my Cricut, then I alternated strips of red and white cardstock.  One simple star embellished with a button and a baker's twine bow was adhered to a scrap of blue cardstock.

To personalize my gift, I cut a simple pennant free hand.  Using a sentiment from one of my favorite stamp companies and some letter stickers, I completed my gift.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Dandelion Designs-To My Teacher
Ink:  Papertrey Ink, Momento
Paper:  Simple Stories, Recollections, Unknown designer paper scraps
Misc:  Baker's twine, Disney Classics Cricut Cartridge, pop up dots, button, My Favorite Things Star Die-Namics, seam binding, travel cup

Valentine's Day Button Tag Bags

Happy Valentine's Day!  I hope your day is filled with love and chocolate.  My day is filled with work, this being one of the two busiest days in the restaurant industry, but I saved myself some Cherry Cordial M & M's for when I get home tonight!

I've been doing quite a bit of sewing lately, and I just love making little bags.  It's a great way to use of little scraps of fabric and most of the time, they make up really fast.

Last month, the Senior Design Team at Papertrey Ink revisited Button Boutique.  This is one of my favorite PTI stamp sets.  I absolutely loved this one at Lilybean Paperie and decided to incorporate it with my new little bags.

I made two styles of bags.  The first one is simple drawstring muslin bag.  I like to stuff it with a lot of stuff and I wanted it to stand up on it's own, so I boxed the bottom corners.

The bags are 6 1/2 inches x 51/4 inches.

Next up are these little tote bags, I call them my Tiny Totes.

These little guys measure 6 inches x 5 inches.  The bottoms of these bags also are boxed so that they stand up freely.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink-Button Boutique and Friendship Jar Spring Fillers
Paper:  Bazzill, American Crafts, Echo Park
Ink:  Memento
Misc:  Muslin bags, Tiny Totes, lace, buttons, baker's twine, mini spools, stick pins, glitter, paper punches, ribbon, sewing machine, Diamond Glaze, Papertrey Ink Dies-Button Boutique and Button Up #2 Die

I Dig You

This is one of those things that didn't photograph well, I apologize, but they are way cuter in real life.  I saw these cute little shovels in Target and they were only 28 cents each, bonus bargain!!  They were a perfect match to the American Crafts Valentine paper pad that they had in the scrapbook aisle, another bonus for me!

So, I made these little tags and packaged up some candy for a special Valentine treat.

Supplies:
Paper:  American Crafts, Bazzill, Recollections
Misc:  Shovel, baker's twine, paper punch, button, cellophane bag, candy, Nestabilities, Sizzix Yarn Sizzlits Alphabet

It's from Michelle Wooderson's blog, Mish Mash.   You can find all the details in her post here.
