Haunted House

Time for another Halloween trick-or-treat!  I haven't used my Home Made Template from My Timeless Templates in awhile, it's one of my favorites, so I decided to make one into a haunted house.

This template is pretty easy to put together, just follow the directions that are provided.  I used the complimentary stamp set from Papertrey Ink, Home Made.  I stamped/paper pieced the doors, windows, and shutters.  I adhered the shutters just slightly askew to make it look more scary!  Then, I added some homemade paper punched pumpkins, a few Recollections Ghost embellishments that I had from last year, and some paper punched bats.  The spider webs were cut out of vellum with my Cricut.  I made a spider out of paper punches and covered him in glitter to put on top of the roof.  He's kind of hard to see as the roof is black as well, but in person, he's very scary!!  The sentiment is from Savvy Stamps.

Just so know, there is candy in the house!

From The Desk Of ...Hello Kitty

In the dollar sections of Michaels and Target, they have all of this cool Hello Kitty stuff. I decided to make some more desk sets using these goodies. The template comes from one of Lauren Meader's, My Timeless Templates. It is called "From The Desk Of". It can be purchased/download from Papertrey Ink.

The Hello Kitty head was made using the original Sizzix Hellow Kitty Face with Bow die. I cut it out twice and sandwiched pop up dots between the two layers.

Each desk set comes with four mini file folders,(that I cut with my Coluzzle), seven Hello Kitty pencils, a Hello Kitty eraser set, and a pink mini compartment box. The mini compartment box has a variety of paper clips, Hello Kitty stickers, tacks, a pink plastic mini clothespins.

Supplies:
Paper: Recollections, DCWV
Template: My Timeless Template-From the Desk Of
Misc: Sizzix, paper punches, coluzzle, pop up dots, Hello Kitty office/school supplies, scor tape

From the Desk of...Everyday Button Bits

Here is another card set/desk organizer using the From The Desk Of template. I saw these great cards by Maile Belles in Papercrafts 350 Cards & Gifts on page 16, and I knew I had to case them.

I changed the cards up a little. I used a Martha Stewart punch to edge the bottom of the card. Using the same color combination, I stamped the stems onto ovals that had been cut and embossed using Nestabilities. All of the layers were popped up using pop up dots. Then I attached the buttons.

I love the little file folders, so I cut some out using my Coluzzle. The labels were made using a few paper punches and some buttons.

For the box, instead of cutting the circle out, I used the same Martha Stewart punch on the front panel, to match the card. A large white bow was tied around the box.

Supplies:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink-Everyday Button Bits
Ink: Memento
Paper: Recollections

Misc: Buttons, ribbon, pop up dots, nestabilities, coluzzle, paper punches

From the Desk of...

Mom, Chuck, and I went to the Scrapbook Expo in Orlando and I bought a bunch of new goodies, including this great paper. It is called "Mabel Papers" by My Mind's Eye. I'm supposed to be using supplies up, not buying them, but you can never have too much paper.

Using one of Lauren Meader's, My Timeless Templates, I created this desk organizer. The template is appropriately named, "From The Desk Of" and it can be purchased/downloaded at Papertrey Ink. The front is embellished with a little ribbon, some pearly swirls and a hand crocheted flower. I made four cards using the Mabel Papers, ribbon, and some Martha Stewart punched flowers. The sentiments is from My Favorite Things, "Framed Greetings" stamp set and matching die.

I used my coluzzle to cut out these mini file folders. The four folders are six inches long and they fit perfectly in the back of the organizer. The folders were embellished with some more paper punched flowers, pearls, and oval label. You can't seen in the picture, but the two RSVP pens have a little bit of paper inside the barrel to match the cards.

This would make a nice gift for a birthday or Mother's Day which is right around the corner.

Supplies:
Stamp: My Favorite Things-Framed Greetings
Ink: Versafine
Paper: Bazzill, The Paper Company, My Mind's Eye
Template: My Timeless Templates-From the Desk of
Misc: Coluzzle, pearls, ribbon, crocheted flower, paper punches, rsvp pens

ULTIMATE Card Kit: Home Made House Gift Boxes Re-Post

Nichole at Papertrey Ink is sponsoring this wicked awesome contest. Check it out here. You have to pick your favorite project using Papertrey Ink stamps. This is the project I'm submitting. I so love these little houses and the stamp set. The posibilities are endless.

I orginally posted this on 12/9/2010.

***(Edit: The house is one of Lauren Meader's, My Timeless Templates. It is called Home Made and can be downloaded/purchased at Papertrey Ink. Click here for the link.)***

I made a whole bunch of these little houses while I was watching the Patriots play on Monday Night Football. It was a great game. I love these little house because they are functional, too. There is enough room inside to pack a present.

I used my Scor-pal to make the siding on the house. A Martha Stewart punch, combined with some Class A-Peels stickers from Stampendous made perfect little window dressings. Flower Soft was sprinkled and it looks like snow had just fallen on this little Christmas Cottage.

Supplies:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink-Homemade
Template: My Time Made Easy-Home Made
Ink: Versafine, Memento, Tim Holtz
Paper: The Paper Company, Papertrey Ink
Misc: Score-pal, flower soft, stickers, paper punch, sticky strip, ribbon

Witch's Cauldron

This is another way to use Pack A Picnic from My Timeless Templates. I wish I could take all of the credit, but Lauren actually made one. You can see her post here. I cut out the small picnic basket, omitting the handles and the lid. I added a drippy border that I cut free hand after I embossed it using the Bubbles Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. I added and extra layer of "drippiness" by using some green distressed Stickles. The cauldron handles are made with the Stampin Up Word Window punch and a circles cut out of silver glitter cardstock. Lauren used jump rings for hers, but I substituted. The little sign is made with a Savvy Stamp. I filled the cauldron with candy and added a little skeleton.

Supplies:
Stamps: Savvy-Happy Haunting
Ink: Versafine
Paper: DCWV, Bazzill
Template: My Timeless Templates-Pack A Picnic
Misc: Brads, ribbon, mini skeleton, candy, green crinkle paper shred, stickles, paper punches, sticky strip, bubbles embossing folder

What A Girl Wants Desk Set

It feels like it's been forever since my last post. Last Friday was my birthday. I had a great day. Thursday night, at work, on my regular guests came in and gave $50.00 for my birthday! I couldn't believe it! I took Friday off, and my mom, stepfather, and Jenny came. We went out to lunch and then to Violette's. I spent my birthday money at Violette's. She had just got in a new shipment of Justrite Stamps, and I was psyched. I need more Christmas and Snowmen stamps like I needed a hole in my head, but I had to have them! Mom and Jenny made me card. I was cleaning out my supplies one day, and had a whole bunch of embellishments that I had made that I gave to them. I figured they could make some quick and easy cards. Well, they did, they stuck them to a piece of cardstock! It's a funny and crazy card. I will post a picture of the card this week. My friend, Victoria, and her 3 year old son made me cupcakes and he sang on the phone to me. It was so sweet. Dad sent some movies, and some cat treats for my fur babies. It was a good day.

Now, onto my project. I've been looking everywhere for a desk organizer box that would fit the larger cards. I love the template, From The Desk Of, by Lauren Meader. But, it only fits the smaller A6 cards. Then I had a "moron, your bus is leaving moment" (Bill Murray-Groundhog Day), and I just made it a little bigger and it worked! The desk organizer has a set of 5 cards and envelopes. I made a little journal with my Bind-It-All and added a few pens. The flower on the front is one that I crocheted and quickly attached it before Tedy could lose it. The directions for the flower can be found on Nichole Heady's blog. I made the little pearl embellishments on the front of the bows.

Supplies:
Stamps: My Favorite Things-What A Girl Wants
Ink: Memento, Versafine, Tim Holtz
Paper: Bazzill, Graphic 34
Template: My Timeless Templates-From The Desk Of
Misc: Half pearls, ribbon, bind-it-all pop up dots, diamond glaze, copics, chipboard coasters, pens, dmc floss, silk leaves

Pack A Picnic for your Teacher!

Say thanks to your favorite teacher with this great picnic basket. The basket template is from Papertrey Ink, Lauren Meader's, My Timeless Templates. I made the larger basket and filled it with some teacher goodies. There is a set of four cards, a note pad, some crayons (in case she gets bored this summer!), pens, candy and some popcorn. The sentiment is computer generated. For those of you that have male teachers for your children, this can easily be adapted. The stamp is a digital stamp from Sweet 'n' Sassy, and there is also a boy, School Boy Seth.

This would also be perfect for the first day of school, just in case you want to get an early start for next fall.

Supplies:
Stamps: Lizzie Anne Designs-School Days & Sweet 'n' Sassy Designs-School Girl Sally
Template: Pack A Picnic-My Timeless Templates at Papertrey Ink
Paper: DCWV, Recollections, Bazzill

Time for Tea

When Lauren Meader debuted "Get A Handle On It", one of her My Timeless Templates, she made this adorable little teapot. I knew I had to have that template, and I knew I wanted to make teapot. The teapot can hold a box of teabags or you can put some little shortbread cookies and teabags for a perfect afternoon snack. These are great gifts for Mother's Day, birthdays, and a little something for your child's teacher. I cut the handle with two oval Nestabilities and the spout I drew free hand. I used a variety of Nestabilities to cut the circles and scalloped circles. A border punch and corner rounder was used to make the medallions featured on a recent edition of the Weekly Inkling on Splitcoast.

Template: My Timeless Template
Stamps: Papertrey Ink-Tea For Two
Paper: Papertrey Ink, Recollections, Bazzill, DP with purple flowers-unknown

Home Sweet Home

I love to make 3-D items, especially ones that can hold a little gift. I've finally gotten around to using my Home Made stamp set from Papertrey Ink. Once I got the hang of these little houses, they were very easy to make. My first one is now in the dumpster, Big Oscar (one of my cats) stepped on it like he was Godzilla! The template is from Lauren Meader, My Timeless Templates, also from Papertrey Ink. The little flower stamp in the window boxes and on the grass is a stubbie stamp from Stamps by Judith. I used popup dots to make the flowers stand out and cut the grass by hand.

This is the back of the house.

I love the pink and brown color combination. I'm still working on my photography skills, so you can't see the pink very well, just pretend that you see it's a light pink!

Someone I know has decorated her house in purple and green, so I decided to make a mini house with those colors. To see the surprise in this little house, just take the roof off, and tah-dah! For a small box, it really holds a lot of stuff.

Thanks for stopping by.
