Hershey Kiss Turkey

This was a little treat that I made to decorate my sister's Thanksgiving table.   Once again I used my Cricut to cut the little turkey out.  The body and the feathers are two separate pieces.  I sandwiched a toothpick between them and then adhered them together with pop up dots.  The toothpick was trimmed down and then I stuck it into the Hershey Kiss.  They were pretty simple to make and were a big hit!

Supplies:
Paper:  Bazzill, Recollections, Echo Park
Ink:  Stamps by Judith, Heidi Swapp
Misc:  Toothpicks, pop up dots, Cricut, Hershey Kisses

Thanksgiving Treat Holders

These treat holders will certainly make your Thanksgiving more festive.  I combined my love of paper punching, "Cricuting", and of course sweet treats to makes pop holders.  They don't need to be just for lollipops or cake pops, they are great to hold little gifts or use as place card holders.

Of course, I can't make just one....I had to make a whole bunch!

Supplies:
Paper:  Bazille, October Afternoon, Recollections
Misc:  Cricut, Cricut Craft Room, paper punches, ribbon, baker's twine, black sharpie marker, Crop-A-Dile, pop up dots, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder

Happy Thanksgiving

My bags are packed, and I'm ready for my craftapalooza at my sister's house. I had a hard time deciding what I should bring. I think that I over did it! This box is really heavy, I can hardly pick it up! The Patriots are playing and we are going to have a good time. My pom poms are ready for the perfect cheer! Tedy had to check it out, although she isn't coming with me. Even though her biological mother and sibblings live with my sister, she doesn't really like them! My sister also has two big dogs and they get really excited when company comes over. Tedy and Oscar will enjoy a quiet Thanksgiving at home.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!

Pilgrim Candy Bar Wrappers

I was inspired by the Pilgrim Wrapper on Laurie Furnell's blog. It's the kind that you download, print, and wrap it around the candy bar. It's already colored, so it's super easy. You can see her post here. I felt like doing some punching, I had a bad day at work, so here's my version of Pilgrim Candy Bar Wrapper.

Supplies:
Paper: Debbie Mumm, Bazzill
Misc: Nestabilities, paper punches, candy bar, wrapper, sharpie pen, white gel pen, pop up dots, crimper

Donny the Donut Turkey

Edit: I've received many inquiries about the donut portion of this project. They are pre-packaged, four in a package. I have used Little Debbie and Blue Bird brands. They were purchased at Walmart.

Sorry, I had to do it. I know I'm probably taking the donut thing too far, but I bought the variety pack!

The feathers are made using the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More Cricut Cartridge. The head and eyes are made from a variety of paper punches. The hat, beak, and waddle were cut free hand, then I made the buckle with the square Nestabilities. I added the Stickles to the beak to give it a little more dimension.

Would this be considered a vegetarian turkey?

Supplies:
Paper: Bazill, Bo Bunny, Recollections
Misc: Tags, Bags, Boxes & More Cricut Cartridge, nestabilities, donuts, stickles, pop up dots, paper punches, black sharpie pen

JustRite Challenge #038

I bought these tins of Prima flowers at Michaels on clearance and thought that I could use the tins as well. When I saw the JustRite Challenge #038 to make a 3-D project for fall, I decided these were perfect. Using my mini mint favor tins as the inspiration, I made these ginormous candy tins! I wanted to do a witch, so I used the Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge to make the hat. These would be great centerpieces, decorations, or just a fun gift.

Supplies:
Stamps: JustRite-Favorite Occassions Set
Ink: Versafine, Memento
Paper: Recollections, Bazzill, Bo Bunny
Misc: Cricut, paper doll dress up cartridge, coluzzle, paper punches, ribbon, pop up dots, nestabilities, copics, embossing powder, embossing gun, large prima flower tins, sticky strip, stickles

Turkey Tins Tutorial

Now, say that that three times fast! Thank you, again, for the all of the sweet comments on my turkeys. Here are the directions.

-Create the belly band the same way the as the on the spiders and pumpkins.

-The body is cut using 2 1/2 inch and 2 inch circle punch or nestabilitie.

-Using a 5/8 circle punch, cut 2 white circles and 1 brown circle. Cut the brown circle in half to use as the eyelids. I used the crop-a-dile to cut the black centers of the eyes. Attach the eyes to the 2 inch circle using pop up dots.

-The beak and waddle are cut free hand, glued together and attached with a pop up dot on the face.

-The feathers are cut using the leaf on the Doodlecharms Cartridge. The are cut black out at 2 1/4 inches. I used a black pen to accent the details. Using snail, I attached the leaves (overlapping) in a semi circle around the 2 1/2 circle.

-Attach the head to the body with pop up dots.

-Using sticky strip, attach the back of the turkey to the belly band.

-Apply brown stickles to the eyelids and yellow stickles to the beak.

-While your stickles are drying, you can make your name tag. I just stamped our names, cut them out with an oval punch, and attached them to little wooden skewers. Attach a little bow to cover up the skewer. I used a little piece of sticky strip to attach it to the back of the turkey.

If you have any questions, please let me know. If you make any of these, I would love to see a picture.
