Happy 4th Of July!!!

Happy 4th of July!!!  I am so excited, this is one of my favorite holidays and for the first time in a very long time, I have the day off!!  I'm going to a cookout at my Mom's.  I made my macaroni salad and cupcakes this morning.

My nephew, David, is stationed in Korea.  I made this card for him, I just need to mail it!  Private Message was colored with both Copics and Prisma Color Pencils.  I made the flag with some strips of designer paper and a little machine sewing.  The stars are adhered with pop up dots just to give it a little more depth.  The sentiment is from Verses, I just love it.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!!!!!  This is one of my favorite holidays, I'm just so proud to live in this great country.  Unfortunately, I have to work tonight, boo hoo!  So, I decided to make this little gifty bag for one of my friends who also has to work today.

I used the Papertrey Ink Front & Center #1 Die to make the little bag.  I cut it with some vellum, and then cut the bottom half off.  Using the sewing machine, I just stitched the sides and bottom.  I made the little pinwheel using a border punch, some Target Washi Tape, and my handy dandy Scor-Pal.  A little ribbon, a crocheted flower, some ric rak, scraps from my stash and badda bing, it's done!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Hero Arts CL 498
Ink:  Memento
Paper:  Echo Park, Wasau, Recollections
Misc:  Washi Tape, Scor-Pal, crocheted flower, Papertrey Ink Front & Center #1 Die, border punch, pearl cotton,  sewing machine, ribbon

Uncle Sam Gable Boxes

Just a quick post beforeI have to hurry and get ready for work.  I made some little gable boxes using  clear acetate cardstock.  Since, my favorite tape...Scor-Tape, shows through the clear acetate, I decided to use some star brads to hold the box together.

For the tag, I just made a simple paper punch Uncle Sam.  The sentiment was stamped onto a circle, mounted on a scallop circle then adhered to to a glitter clothespin.  I tied a bow to the handles, to keep the box closed and then I attached the clothespin.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink-Friendship Jar Summer Fillers
Ink:  Memento
Paper:  Martha Stewart, Recollections
Misc:  Paper punches, ribbon, clear acetate, brads, paper shred, candy bars, Scor-Pal, pop up dots, glitter clothes pin, glitter gel pen

Patriotic Pinwheel Party Pouches

Here are some little party favors I made for the nephews and neices for the 4th of July.  First, I filled some tall and skinny glassine bags with a few small candy bars.

I've really been wanting to buy a pinwheel die, but in an effort to save money, I just used the old fashioned method and did it buy hand.  The pennant banner was also cut by hand with the a stamped sentiment.  The pinwheel was attached to the eraser of pencil with a pin that cut down using wire cutters.  This way, the pinwheel moves!  I attached the pencil pinwheel to the glassine bag with a tiny piece of tape and then finished with a polka dotted bow.

I also made up some favors with clothespins covered in paper and instead of a pin,  I used a star brad.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink-Friendship Jar Spring Fillers and Hero Arts-CL498
Ink:  Memento
Paper:  Echo Park
Misc:  Glassine bags, clothespins, pencils, candy, pins, star brad, paper punches, Modge Podge

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day! This is one of my favorite holidays. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day of cookouts and family fun. I am looking forward to the fireworks tonight. I rearranged my crafty space in my bedroom, so I can see the fireworks at Tigertown tonight. I've been doing a lot of moaning and groaning today. I must of worked like 100 hours this weekend and every part of my body hurts!

Something very exciting happened to me. I was chosen as the Pick Of The Week over Bitten By The Bug 2 Challenge: Hanging With My Gnomies! I saw it last night, when I finally got home from the long weekend working. I'm so excited and honored that I was picked out from all the great submissions. If you missed my post on the submission, you can check it out here.

Here is a simple card I made to celebrate the 4th of July. I just love that quote.

Supplies:
Stamp: Verses-Will Rogers quote
Ink: Versafine
Paper: October Afternoon, Recollections
Misc: The Cat's Pajamas Easy Rosette Die, half pearls, ribbon, star brads, pop up dots, paper punch

Uncle Sam On A Stick!

Here some party favors for your 4th of July picnic parties!  Using a variety of paper punches and Nestabilities, I created this Uncle Sam.  He is a larger version of  this project I made last year.   I used the Inky Antics Triangle Treat Box stamp, I made the small triangle box.  Then, I adhered a bamboo skewer inside the box.  The box was filled with Fire Ball candies, and tied closed with ribbon.  Uncle Sam was attached to the front of the triangle box with some foam tape.  To complete the project, I tied a big bow on the stick.  Easy peasy!

Hamburger Cookies

If you need a quick dessert to bring to your 4th of July cook out, bring these hamburger cookies. There is no baking involved, so it's great for the kids to make. You don't have to limit it to just the 4th of July, it would be a great project for the kids when they get restless during their summer vacation!

The buns are made out of Nilla Wafers, the burgers are made out of Keebler Grasshopper Cookies (or if you have some Girl Scout Thin Mints in your freezer), the lettuce, cheese, and ketchup are made with Wilton Icing.

The carrier box template is from My Life's Art cupcake mix carrier. You can see the post here. I just tweaked the measurements to fit the ingredients. The hamburger is from Dawn's Stamping Studio. You can see her video here.

Supplies:
Stamp: Stamps by Judith
Paper: DCWV, Best Creations, Recollections, Bazzill
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress
Misc: Pop up dots, paper punches, stickles, cookies, frosting, plastic bags, ribbon, American Flag, plastic bags, icing tips, black sharpie, white gel pen

Have A "Sweet" 4th of July from Uncle Sam

I was disappointed when York stopped making their Peppermint Patties in the foil wrap. I did manage to find a few bags at my local supermarket, I'm storing them in the freezer for Halloween! So, I had to figure out another idea to make the candy wrappers for the holidays. I saw the paper punch Uncle Sams on Splitcoast, and decided to give it a try.

Supplies:
Stamps: Studio G
Ink: Memento, Martha Stewart
Paper: Bazzill, Recollections
Misc: Ribbon, pretzel bags, paper punches, stickles, pop up dots, crop-a-dile, black sharpie pen, white gel pen

Celebrate Freedom

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. It's a day we celebrate the brave men and women who helped build this great country. I love using the red, white, and blue color combinations. This card was made using Papertrey Ink's Vintage Picnic Set. I paper pieced the basket topper and popped it up using pop up dots. Glitter was applied to make the stars sparkle and the white stripes on the flag. I love the little letter beads and thought it would be fun to use them for the sentiment.

Supplies:
Stamps: Papertrey Ink-Vintage Picnic
Ink: Memento
Paper: Bazzill, Recollections, Papertrey Ink
Misc: Nestabilities, copics, button, dmc floss, ribbon, pop up dots, glue, letter beads, glitter
