You Spin Me Right Round...

Here are a few gifts that I made my Mom and Sister.  We love to craft, and we love to organize our craft stuff!  I bought some Lazy Susans at Ikea (love that place) for the bases, some spray paint at Home Depot, picked my trash for empty cans and went to work.

For this one, I actually spray painted the Lazy Susan as well.  Laura's sewing room is white and blue, and I wanted to it to match.  I couldn't find any paper that I really liked, so I used my favorite piece of fabric I have in my stash.  I used some Heat and Bond on the fabric to give it a little of stability and then Modge Podged it on to my cans.  With Mason Jars being so popular now, I decided that adding one would look nice.  The cans and jar are decorated with bits of lace, ribbon, and pom pom trim.  Then, I added some crochet flowers, decopaged clothes pins, and some felt leaves.

Laura actually surprised me and came over when I was making this, but I know she act completely surprised when I give this to her.  That is what an awesome sister I have!

So, this next one is for my Mom.  I left the Lazy Susan it's natural color.  This time I used some coordinating scrapbook paper.

Supplies:
Paper:  Graphic 45, Carte Bella
Misc:  Lazy Susans, clothespins, lace, ribbon, pom pom trim, buttons, crochet flowers, felt, Modge Podge, fabric, Heat and Bond, felt heart trim, glue gun, Ball Canning Jar

I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

I just love the My Favorite Things Pure Innocence stamps, I wish I could have them all!  Today, I used four of them to make this card.  I dug out some dies that I haven't used in a while and got to work.

The little girls are colored with Copics and their outfits are paper pieced.  Using my Nestabilities, I cut out the four squares and the scalloped frames.  The sentiment is from Great Impressions, it is definitely only of my favorite Beatles' songs.  Peter Frampton and the Bee Gee's did an awesome take on it in the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band movie.  That movie was so good, saw it in the theatre and even own it on DVD!  The sentiment is framed with the My Favorite Things Framed Greetings Die/Stamp set.

I embellished it with some rolled roses, paper punched butterflies and flowers.

Supplies:
Stamps:  My Favorite Things-Pure Innocence Holly Girl, Little Angel, Out On A Limb, Corn Maze Girl, Framed Greetings and Great Impressions-I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends
Ink:  Memento, Heidi Swapp
Paper:  Recollections, Echo Park, Dear Lizzy, Papertrey Ink, MME
Misc:  Pop up dots, My Favorite Things Die-Namics Rolled Roses, half pearls, Nestabilities, paper punches

It's Another Birthday Card

I couldn't come up with catchy title, so basically, this is another birthday card.  I, as usual, combined two of my favorite stamp companies, Papertrey Ink and My Favorite Things!  The flowers were made using my Cricut and I made some little flags with scraps and toothpicks.

This is one of those cards that looks better in person than in the photo.  The sun is shining, but its HOT outside, I think I'll stay inside!

Supplies:
Stamps:  My Favorite Things-Big Greetings and Papertrey Ink- Fillable Frames #5
Ink:  Heidi Swapp
Paper:  MME, Bazill
Misc:  Cricut Sweet Treats Cartridge, buttons, thin wire, toothpicks, paper punches, pop up dots, library card

Celebrating 50!

So, my best friend in the whole world/sister celebrated her 50th birthday.  In our family, we are not embarrassed of our ages, and we will gladly tell you how we old are!  We are grateful for every year we have lived, no matter if they were great or not so great.

I got the sketch from Pinterest, as usual.  You can find the original blog post, here.  As you can see, I made only a few changes.  While I know I need that specific stamp, I substituted with another PI-Cause for Celebration.  Which I picked up at the My Favorite Things Store in Eustis, Florida.  They were having a holiday celebration last Christmas.  There were snacks, free make and takes, and the shop was open with awesome sales.  I got this little baby for only $2.25!!  Of course, Laura (my bff/sister) and I went and had a blast and spent too much money!  We could have spent more, but didn't.

Let's see, my birthday girl is colored with Copics and her dress/bow is paper pieced.  Lots of dies were used:  Nestabilities, Papertrey Ink Numbers, My Favorite Things Scalloped Oval and Fish Tail Pennants.  Throw in a few paper punches, Diamond Glaze, ribbon, half pearls and some cat hair and it's done!  The cat hair was not intentional, when you have Diamond Glaze out and a rather large cat rolling on your table it's inevitable.

Supplies:
Stamps:  My Favorite Things-PI Cause for Celebration
Ink:  Memento
Paper:  Neenah, American Crafts, My Mind's Eye
Misc:  Paper punches, Nestabilities, Copics, Diamond Glaze, Fish Tail Pennants and Oval Scallop Die-Namics, Numbers Papertrey Ink Dies, pop up dots, half pearls

I hope you have a nice afternoon.  It's sunny and cool here in Central Florida.  I have the windows open, fresh air blowing, good music playing, my kitties, and my craft stuff...how much better can it get.  My internet was down for a few days this week, so my cable company gave me credit for two free movies on demand, so I will watch some thing this evening.  I'm thinking Devil's Knot, I read the book, and I am interested to see how the movie portrays it.

Mom's Big Day

Another card for my Mom!  I am very excited  because to make this card, I only used scraps of paper I had leftover.  I know that sounds bad, but I love it when I can use stuff up, then I can buy more!

So, for the details....I made a chipboard frame using some designer paper, Nestabilities, and a coaster.  The flowers were made using my Cricut and the leaves were paper punched.  I made my own letters using the Papertrey Ink alphabet die, more coasters, and some 3-D Crystal Lacquer.  My last doily (sad face inserted here) and some tiny  butterflies punched out of vellum completed my card.

Supplies:
Stamps:  My Favorite Things-Big Greetings
Ink:  Versafine
Paper:  Bazzill, Recollections, and I don't know!
Misc:  Paper punches, half pearls, pop up dots, coasters, 3-D Crystal Lacquer, doily, Cricut Sweet Treats Cartridge, buttons, Papertrey Ink Modern Alphabet Upper Dies
